In Fed and Out, Many Now Think Inflation Helps

WASHINGTON — Inflation is widely reviled as a kind of tax on modern life, but as Federal Reserve policy makers prepare to meet this week, there is growing concern inside and outside the Fed that inflation is not rising fast enough.

Some economists say more inflation is just what the American economy needs to escape from a half-decade of sluggish growth and high unemployment.

So you are going to use inflation extract more wealth out of the bottom half and the poor?

You can use a hammer to build a church or to smash a innocent skull in? A tool can be use to leverage doing good or doing bad...

"The school board in Anchorage, Alaska, for example, is counting on inflation to keep a lid on teachers’ wages. Retailers including Costco and Walmart are hoping for higher inflation to increase profits. The federal government expects inflation to ease the burden of its debts. Yet by one measure, inflation rose at an annual pace of 1.2 percent in August, just above the lowest pace on record."

So inflation is too much money or currency chasing too little goods and services. You are creating inflation by debasing the currency basically without expanding the economy. One is serving the few and the other is serving the USA and the world.

Right, the business community got this disease where they are afraid to take any risk...the inability of them creating meaningful economic expansion.

Right, the deal is not to put the current economic on steroids...it’s to invent new or fresh economy.

I rather we create addition roads and bridges(metaphor), infrastructure or knowledge that we could use over and over in the next 60 years than this consumer crap that just ends up in our dumps after one shot without much value added...or be the foundation for new technology or invention...

An economy that would enhance or develop our collective human intelligence...our collective mind...that would drag the dead minded masses into modern enlightened productive and happy intelligence.

We could start actually enginering ourselves for a bigger and better future.

Weapons is actually worse than this one shot consumer crap that just ends up in a dump that more enslaves us than really gives us pleasure of any length! I mean really a god given pleasure and delight that comes built into us all at birth and it comes without any strings.

You get it, this growing anti government sediment comes from a government that is becoming less meaningful in our lives and it is more a drag on us all...

We need a government that is more meaningful in our lives...

You certainly aren't going to do it by removing the only source of capital this country has. The rich people.
I suggest we do it by making it easier to get into business by getting rid of the reams of regulations that prevent people from hiring a couple of people and getting into business. The only way someone who has an idea can get started today is to hire off the books.
did you ever hear of a pension fund ? They have trillions of dollars invested and it's not billionaires money or even millionaires money.

Need labor call a temp agency they will handle the paper work.
The sniveling by small employers is boohoo they don't want to do the work needed to hire people and pay the real cost of work mans comp and unemployment insurance, just hand somebody a 1099 and tell them to fend for themselves.

It's baked into the system and will devalue old debt. We need years of inflation like we had in the late 1970's except this time there is no massive private industry unions to keep demanding higher and higher wages and the taxpayers are tapped out so the government sloths will have to accept pay cuts threw inflation and watch the real value of their bloated pensions shrink.

Nothing personal, it's just how the math will work out.
