See, I think a 1930 depressionary and political level event, when you got the presidency and say the congress...it will give the democrats enormous power and advantages.

Post-depression, history will show that the Republicans created it.

It will allow Obama to restructure our whole country...

I think the Republicans our locked into a total shutdown...if they give in now they will loose the teabaggers and mid term election. They will take a beating on the mid terms, maybe give the House back to the democrats...set up the next presidential for a run on the election for the democrats.

See, the only winning hand the right wing extremist are betting on is they can decimate our economy...the republicans can rise from the embers.

Ultimately, they want to decimate the size and reach of government...these guys a terrorist.

The government is the enemy...we got to destroy it...

Obama is gone in 38 months, depression or no depression. And the republicans, depsite all the current negativity in the polls (there are also negative numbers for Obama and the democrats in congress), are heros in their own districts so I doubt that there will be a significant gain in democratic seats. The real question is whether the republicans can gain senate seats in the 7 states that voted for Romney where democrats are leaving.

Check History. The only party that could elect a same member party for president after a two term president was Bush senior who was elected after Reagan. And he didn't win re-election despite doing a very good job in the oval office (of course the man who predicted the giant sucking sound from Mexico probably won it for Clinton). Truman was elected after he inherited the post when FDR died and then won re-election by a whisker over Dewey.

It would be much safer for you if you predicted a republican president in 2016. It is extremely tough, especially in tough times, to elect a same party president because at the end of the day the people, us, blame the president when things don't go as expected. And in the case of Obama nothing has gone as he campaigned and the democrats will be blamed. Not to mention the demographics issues around his election and re-election.

The "decimate our economy scenario" is more often attributed to George Soros and Obama.

Did the teabaggers scare us into a recession...

Cause us and businesses to stop spending in a weak economy...

Was that the aims of the republicans to create a recession for Obama for the midterms...

Vietnam got really rolling under a democrat (LBJ) after one of the few ever 'good' ones (JFK) tried to stop that war and got murdered for it, and BTW we lost Vietnam, the powers that be who caused it didn't mean for us to win it anyway

They are already fleeing because we tax them too much and we over regulate their activities so they think it is dangerous to invest in the US.

Not yet. They got us the sequester which resulted in the first time goverment has reduced spending since Harry Truman was in office. The war is ongoing and the only way the republicans will lose is if they can't get elected. The real win win for everyone won't happen until the democrats moderate their position with respect to spending more than we take in.
