Supreme Court upholds ruling against Democratic PAC
Court affirms Green Mountain Future violated election laws in 2010
The Vermont Supreme Court has upheld a lower court decision that Green Mountain Future, a Democratic political organization that sprung up in the final months of the 2010 gubernatorial election, should have filed with the state as a political action committee and identified itself on its television ads.
The unanimous decision released Friday rejected an appeal by Green Mountain Future, which had argued it should be spared regulation under Vermont’s election laws because its advertisingwas “purely issue advocacy” that had constitutional protection......

Sometimes cheaters DO prosper and if you ask his family, you may find Peter Shumlin is an unrepentant cheater through and through. If a man's wife and children can't trust him, I cannot trust him. VY employees Mike Empey and Bob Wanzyk (and others) have signed letters from Shummy stating that VY has his support.
Speaking of prospering, I think we'll find that Vermont has lost more jobs paying above the median while Shummy has been Governor than any other Governor in documented history. This, while he has become an enriched one-percenter, paid his ex-wife a multi-million dollar settlement, and is closing in on a US Senate seat.
You'd have to be easily fooled low information voter to vote for this man, or perhaps a strictly party-line voter. Not much difference there if you ask me.

In 2010, Green Mountain Future, which listed a Barre address, received $533,955 in contributions primarily from the Democratic Governors Association and spent $429,186 on two television ads that criticized Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie’s support for the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant. The ads didn’t mention that Dubie was the Republican gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming election.
At the time, Dubie and Democrat Peter Shumlin were locked in a close and contentious campaign for the open governor’s seat. Shumlin won the election by 4,331 votes.
