It is interesting, I was rolling down the hill before the American legion. Two cops facing the road and quacking...one catches me going down the hill. The roads are terrible; I donít even want a hand to leave the handle bars. One cop smiles big at me and then they both go out of the way to give me a big wave...I exaggerate dipping my head twice big as in a greeting twice so they didnít think I was stuck up. They went out of their way to wave and smile at me...I was a little puzzled by it.

Way too many leg cramps last night...I am in good shape right new. I am relatively out of shape.

I test drove a new29er Raleigh mountain bike in Greenfield Ma. I donít know if I really need a hybrid now.

I'm selling my Trek 300 Navigator male bike for something less gear complicated or maybe no gears girl bike.

Is it strange this coincidence?

Oh I don't try to be a bike man. I enjoy riding and upped my distances is all. I think it good exercise. Were I to have started this 30 years ago, I'd probably keep the Trek.

What are you looking for? Are there trails you go through on the hills?

You canít get exercise in a bike with one gear. The idea here is to get some heavy breathing going on and get muscle aches in your legs.

80% roads and 20% trails...but I live for the time on the trails. There are trails all over the place. I like the trail across the west river (route 30) heading up to...Brattleboro to Townsend.

I use the trails in my town a lot

mikey ASS-ewe-me s that puppy_pooper is a man
mikey would do well for the community if he took his own advice and used only a stationary bike
.
"The idea here is to get some heavy breathing going on and get muscle aches in your legs."
-that may be the idea for Some cyclists, the ones who are always out to do a workout when cycling and cannot ride a bike just to go to the store and back etc., can't ride without donning their stupid apparel made of spandex, and can't simply get off the bike and walk it up a steep hill but gotta prove that they can peddle up it. I call them OCD sufferer cyclists. They even get into the middle of traffic on Main st. acting like they're on a motorcycle! They'll also insist that a cyclist should always ride on the right side of the road when in the rural areas, which is nuts and dangerous especially on certain roads since many idiot drivers don't see cyclists and hundreds get run into and killed every year.
No mikey, the idea of bicycling for the level-headed among us is to just get from here to there with the least amount of effort and sweat. Some have to bike since they're dirt poor or had DUIs or are too nuts and so they're not allowed to drive.

Seeing your IP reminds me I need to get another birth certificate from that Rutland Hospital.
Did they rename it? I'd like to be on route 7 heading north .. stop off in Burlington, maybe take the fairy across Champlain to New York and work my way to Canada. Gosh, that place is beautiful.
Canada, that is. Haven't seen Rutland since 2006. How many Dairy's they got now? Did Thomas Dairy take over Sewards and all the rest. I would miss Sewards Ice Cream and I still by products out of Thomas Dairy. Hmmm, wonder how young Mr. Thomas is now. I used to be engaged to him. Sheeeet, I"d been a rich woman had I chose to stay .. somethings are just worth more than money.

Hmmm, I want another coffee and dam near close enough to add a touch of schnapps.:))

It snows, the roads dry out in a day...then you are back on the road. I like driving a bike in the rain when itís warm...the pitter patter of the drops on the leaves.
Actually hear a singing robin out there this mourning...though they been around for many weeks.

Thanks. I was thinking a simpler 5 gear bike. I'm not enamoured with Schwinn....how about Huffy bikes?

Isn't that hard on gears with all the oils and dirt on the old? It's just what I read.
