At least hold them accountable to the same conditions they stipulated for the Holiday Inn Express!

"The town is supportive of a proposed two megawatt solar array that developers want to put up on land along Interstate 91, though town officials want the company to consider the aesthetic impact of the project."
Perhaps the Brattleboro boneheads could require the company to plant trees in and around the solar array. That would make everybody feel good!

Where did the $1,000,000 go? Probably the same place the taxpayers money for the solar project will go.
#4 Jul 13, 2013
. I think this out of state developer should be made to comply with the same conditions as any other Project at that location! If they are unable to do so then the project is not right for that particular location. Why don't they put the solar field on top of the abandoned Home Depot building?
At least be consistent Brattleboro!

Another ridiculous solar project that will generate less electricity than the tax dollars spent on it.Both the equipment and electric it generates is subsidized by my paying a higher rate. Anyone that looks at the cost of these systems vs the electric they generate realizes it is just a lot of baloney.

Stupid. Put the panels on the roofs of all the municipally owned buildings and use them to power those buildings. The grid is swamped with intermittent junk electricity already. Do yourselves, and your community, some good Brattleboro and get off the fantasy "green" bandwagon.

..... only in VT will they shoot down permitting for a box store (jobs and tax base)... but build/ erect thousands of solar panels! Solar panels that will be built with tax payer money in a foreign country (China) shipped back to the States and assembled... again w/ tax payer money..... why do I feel violated?

Why not put the solar project across the street from McDonalds and in front of the cemetery instead? The town would not allow a truckers rest area in that field or a C&S warehouse near that area because to truck traffic, so why not encourage the solar energy project to be there instead? Why litter the view from I-91 when we could easily have it away from the interstate?

and what do ewe suggest we do for 'cheap' electric?
Oh right, More f-ing nuke plants ppffffffffttt!
which means More meltdowns and More mega-cancers
Have ewe noticed that Japan's economy is totally f-ed now?
Even if they were to tax their people %100 like France does they'll still be screwed for decades, and that's assuming they don't have More meltdowns, which they will

The view of what? That spot is perfect, it's already a developed area on that side of the highway anyway, and besides Bratt isn't really part of pretty scenic Vermont, one is still kinda in flatland until one gets farther up into the State.
But hey that's gives me another great idea!
Besides the great idea of putting up solar panel arrays over large shopping area parking lots, we should put solar panel arrays over cemetaries! Those damn places take up waaay too much useful space (cremation ought to be the law) and litter the view wherever they are, so lets put solar panels on high poles over the cemetaries!
I don't think the dead will complain, and what reason can their still living relatives have against it?
#11 Jul 14, 2013
Now that's something I can agree on. Brattleboro as flat as most places the so called flatlander come from.

It's a dead technology everywhere else, so cemeteries are indeed a good location.
#14 Jul 14, 2013
If they are dumb enough to spend their money on solar let them. Just don't make us look at the ugly development from I-91.
#15 Jul 14, 2013
One does NOT have a right to Not have to see whatever one might consider 'ugly' from I-91 or any public roadway
I could say that I shouldn't have to see that God-damned DirtyBomb and its cooling towers from Rt. 142 in Vernon
Speakin of public, that's who OK'd the solar project, so give it up schmuck and STFU already

Why don't ewe and Ann Coulter go live in Japan?
There's plenty of work at the 'healthy' & 'safe' Fukushima nuke sites doing (trying to do)containment and 'remediation'
'Let’s Send Ann "radiation is good for you" Coulter to Fukushima'
On his nationally syndicated radio show today, Alex Jones offered to foot the bill and send Ms. Coulter to Fukushima where she might deliver a speech on the benefits of radiation.
Hmmm, seems we don't find much news about catastrophies and ill health about Solar & Wind & Hydro electric utilities, nor massive public outcry against them like we do with nukedom.
I bet some of ewe would support laws against what ewe call 'paranoia'-- right?
Yeah ewe bastards would
