The townn isn't treating "their" residents like second class citizens - the LANDLORD's are doing that all by themselves!
Landlords have the benefit of a tax shelter via all the deductions that can be taken on rental units - what ARE they REALLY bawling about?

Fric Spruyt is infamous as a terrible landlord. He needs to keep his mouth shut and concentrate on housing court.

PLAIN JANE: do you EVER submit a comprehensible post? I've never read anything you've posted that makes the least bit of sense.

And it's not too bright to suggest someone commit murder, as in "bump off Bernie or mighty pat"...

Poor slumlords! They just don't want to spend a dime as usual. For years my slumlord (5 units) in Bratt had his lackey bring in trash and demolition debris from his other properties, including in NH, to be disposed of at the curb.

An apartment building is a commercial enterprise and no, the renters are not inventory, although that shows how landlords think they own renters. If anything, the apartments are the inventory. The problem is that if you force an expense on a slumlord the renters will eventually pay.

The privatization of trash pick up in Brattleboro is the worst idea this selectboard has come up with. I can't wait until our town realizes that this is a failure. It saves nothing because the cost is shifted to the tax payers and it will probably cost them more because they will be seeking services individually and not on any sort of "economy of scale".

It's just a stupid political move so people like DeGray can say "Hey I saved you all a million bucks!" the next time their up for re-election. Yeah, thanks.

What next? Privatize water? How about privatizing roads?

I just came upon this as I was looking up Fric on behalf of an acquaintance who may move to Brattleboro. I rented a room from him when I was in graduate school, and he was a great landlord, generous and reasonable.
