The plan is working, 25 by 25 just got a huge boost with a big job layoff at IBM! When jobs leave the state, Vermont conserves energy! It's a beautiful thing when a plan works.

I recall how the nukenuts here on Topix Bratt were saying 1-2 years ago "Oh woe is Vermont since IBM is going to leave due to the threat of VY getting shut down blah blah" and and basically blaming the anti-nuke 'hippies' for that and anything else that was a detriment to jobs in the State.
It was bullsh't then and absolute bull now since VY didn't get shut down and companies like IBM's owners have Looong made it clear that they are globalists and their co. is international (hence the 'I' in IBM) and so they don't shivagit about helping save American jobs- they were going to take full advantage of 'Free Trade' globalism and eventually offshore as much as possible to where the cheap labor is in India/China wherever. That other globalist run sellout GM got bailout $$ only to use part of it to build factories now in f*ing China. Ross Perot and Ron Paul etc. were spot on right years ago about the 'giant sucking sound' of manufacturing etc. job loss that would occur by letting the banksters get their NAFTA & GATT etc. passed by our corrupt bought-off sell out politicos (of the 'left' And 'right')

Some idiot right wing nukebags still want to blame the anti-nuke 'hippies' when New World Order globalism is the Real culprit

a simple search of IBM and 'offshoring' etc. shows the recent history-

Beyond the Cashless Society: IBM’s Vision for the Future
January 2012
IBM’s “IBM 5 in 5” predictions reveal part of a goal that has been discussed for some time, yet too often continues to be dismissed as mere conspiracy theory. This goal is for biometric data such as fingerprints, iris scans, and voice recognition to not only become commonplace amongst the general public, but soon to replace all other forms of identification.Even more startling, the next level of technology is set for release which will link the human brain directly to the digital world, enabling the user to control their reality purely by thought.

The business of business is business; but Vermont's position is that business exists to prop up government programs.

When did you relocate here from CONN, NJ, or wherever you were? And why? Or why do you stay? The fact, is VT is a state with a diverse set political beliefs, there are extremes on both sides of course. Saying what "Vermont's position" is, is simplistic idiocy.

The middle aged and young need to stop volunteering to be firemen or anything else and also stop supporting Vermont farmers. Stick it to the wealthy elderly flower children anyway they can. Don't go to the events either. Boycott everything that makes Vermont warm and fuzzy for the wealthy elderly flower children who have run the state into the ground.

I kept my VT residency while in the service for 22 years and then returned to our family homestead ten years ago. I guess you could say I came from Germany, Vietnam and seven US States. I don't view that as being a negative, I view it as earning an alternative education. When people ask I tell them that we have been Vermonters for five generations.

If you believe that Vermont has diversity in much of anything, then I believe that you don't get out of the Brattleboro area much. I don't see that as being anything to much to be proud of.

It is simplistic but not idiocy. After watching our liberal to progressive legislture spend the whole winter talking about nothing but new programs and how to raise taxes it is not simplistic to say that we have been taken over by the liberals and conservatism and fiscal frugality are gone from Vermont.

the topic was about the notion of what ewe crazies have called the 'hippies'/"elderly flower children" having somehow caused IBM and other jobs to leave Vermont etc.-- which is Nuts

and yes Joe it Does have to do with the country as pointed out by not only my pertinent links in #3 but the original poster's own BFP linked article saying...

"The Alliance@IBM CWA Local 1701, a workers’ group, was reporting late Thursday that more than 1,600 jobs have been cut nationwide by IBM, including 165 in the division that includes Essex along with several other facilities around the country."

understand that IBM is no ordinary multinational co.
IBM and the NSA set up the internet
Google was founded by the CIA & NSA (on record) 14 years ago. Apple was really a CIA front
Microsoft was an IBM front co. set up by IBM to get around trust laws, and IBM was involved in the creation of the CIA
Look into who set up IBM and what its goal was- world dominiation, master race promoting eugenics and furthering the NWO. And the msm admitted several years ago the fact that IBM's first prototype punch-card computers were sold to the Nazis to be used to count and keep track of all the jews and others sent to the deathcamps.
Along with top banksters including Prescott Bush and Fritz Thysen, IBM was a top funder of Hitler

It's just simple math. Drive up the cost of housing and taxes and jobs will leave. It has nothing to do with Men in Black or black helicopters.

1950 a new house cost $10,000. Adjusted for inflation it would be about $100,000 today. Property taxes where probably way lower as a percentage of somebodies pay.

http://homes.yahoo.com/Vermont/Burlington/188...

cheapest house in Burlington $155,000 for a mini house and how much a year in taxes ?
It's only 61 years old so upkeep and if it costs more than it should most people will have to borrow more so pay more for interest.

http://homes.yahoo.com/Vermont/Burlington/106...

$237,000 plus interest and high property taxes for a basic 1950's subdivision house and morons think evil boogieman conspiracy is behind everything going on.
The real villain is the squaw next door with her NIMBY nonsense and it's for the children nonsense.

America one big Detroit in the making and the tin foil hat bunch can't even see the real boogieman is right in their face, not in some bunker in New Mexico plotting against them.

Vermont wants to be like the United Arab Emirates where all sorts of filthy rich people have third world peasants to wait on them hand and foot except over here they just claim those people are just taking jobs no Americans will do.

The working class trash are being banished to Vermont's version of inner city living in the mini cities of Brattleboro, Bennington, Rutland, Springfield under some smart growth agenda 21 and they will bus the working class peasants from third world countries into the trust fund baby towns to cut their lawns and clean their houses and than back to the ghetto towns.

The trust fund babies are using the farm labor excuse to flood the labor market with third world labor so no working class Vermonter can afford to live outside the ghetto cities where slumlords price gouge them for rent.

All sorts of Midwest towns now look like third world dumps after farmers and meat packers smuggled in towns of third world labor.
It will be too far gone by the time the population figures it out and no turning back. I'm sure Tiffany the trophy child of the trust fund snob couple will think the gang banger kid is just all it.

The term used was Men in Black, it's referring to a movie. Good try angry old white geezer trying to play the race card and hate card to shut somebody up. Reality is you old geezers destroyed the country and all your finger pointing at groups of supposed boogiemen is hysterical. If there was evil secret societies they would have done whatever they wanted to do by now.

Oh by the way the CFR pays Rush, Alex and all the other conspiracy theory nuts just to keep the whack jobs entertained and it's easier to make a list of whack jobs so they can keep an eye on them.

hate having ewe'r own sh't thrown back at ewe huh dipsh't?

That Cognitive Dissonance malady ewe have makes for quite a pathetic show, and yes the way ewe talk Does sound racist as well as nuts.
Ewe assume a lot that's wrong, like that I'm angry and an old geezer, and that ewe can play the 'conspiracy theorist nut' card on me,
That bizzare belief in phantom hippy geezers somehow ruining Vermont and jobs means the Brattleboro Retreat has a padded room waiting for ewe, but if it were up to me ewe'd get the full frontal lobotomy.

BTW, it's properly spelled 'bogeyman' not 'boogieman'
THE 'Boogie Man' is a now dead black guy who was instrumental in creating Rock & Roll-
