I heard they painted the brand new track too! I also heard that they were drunk so how about arresting their parents and or guardians?

Idiots!

How is it that these children were allowed to freely roam the streets after 9:00pm? What’s the matter with their “parents”?

Where was the neighbors, community, businesses, state and federal interaction who could help keep straight these parents and children?

And we all need others to keep us straight at times in our lives...

The Police tracked them down and made the arrest lightning fast. Being minors they will get the help that they need, but you are right; what will become of the derelict parents? They should lose custody of those kids until a thorough investigation can be made to determine their fitness as parents. Hopefully the police will be able to find out exactly how those minors got the alcohol and punish the adult to the fullest extent of the law!

If the state took custody of all kids whose parents are unfit the state would be broke.

Everyone watches law and order or other similar programs...the police got no magic wand of fact finding and it is expensive.

The court system is designed to throw these kids under the bus....I'll bet you everyone including the police knew these kids were heading for a crack up and the police and social services turned a blind eye act pro-actively instead of waiting for the kids to create the evidence...

This attitude is an abject failure with regards to the welfare of our most vulnerable population. Our state seems to have plenty of money to spend challenging rulings in the federal court. The money is already there, we simply need to use it more wisely. How much has the attorney General spent fighting rulings in last three cases?

Come on, Vermont made a half to a billion dollars off the VY power purchase agreement.

The court case is pennies?

Vermont is way ahead...

You know Mike the state doesn’t even have to get them all, they just have to heavily publicize that they are going after them and make an example of some of them that will create communities that won’t tolerate derelict parents. My mother used to tell me that while we were poor, we weren’t dirty and poor. Do you see a difference Mike?

The "I hate the government" route where we never have decent funding able to lead humans too redemption.

So you just create hollow symbolism where the listless and disenfranchised will see right through that..that you are pathetically weak.

Do you see the difference ABC?

Laws prohibiting jaywalking are universally understood to symbolize a city’s parental stance toward its "infantile" citizens.

So if a city chooses not to enforce it's jaywalking laws, what does that say about its parental stance toward its "infantile" citizents?

Three juveniles were on the streets at 11:30, why weren’t they afraid of getting caught? Why even when they were firebombing cars, were they unafraid of the authorities?

They are supposed to respect the authorities so much...but it takes relationship...they don't want to disappoint them.

The police could know every child on a positive bases....the town is so small.
