Trouble with your response is that it is an admission I'm right. When the person you are debating turns to insults instead of a logical response you know you are right. So I know my post was right. But you can try again if you want.

The reality is that we have tripled staff with the creation of disability mainstreaming and implementation of diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities. We now label children as having a disability which in turn marginalizes them. And the number of people on welfare is growing and growing larger and there is little evidence that all of the school programs your good intentions promote have helped at all.

What did we call a boy in 1880 with ADHD? A leader. What do we call him now. Disabled.

"low end" learners don't qualify for an IEP unless their aptitude performance gap on cognitive assessments is at least fifteen points. SPED qualified does not mean low end.

Where did I ever support that war sh't? Link to me doing so or STFU douche!
I've Consistantly been against war and always pointed out how every war after WWII was unlawful since undeclared by Congress

why is is that 'gays' have fought to be included as equals without discrimination in the military? One could strawman to say they're all hateful murdering bastards in the same way ewe and susie do

A lot of it started the day King Baby was born to the mini van driving soccer mom with the baby on board sign. Congraduatations lady, rats and cockroaches have babies also. The trophy children syndrome set in, if their kid wasn't on the honor roll in kindergarten get a lawyer and sue somebody, demand the child be fixed. How is she going to brag about her child at the country club if the kid is just average ?

A girl I know graduated college a few years ago, bless her heart she was going to save the world and be a inner city special education teacher. 1 year was enough of the monsters because it's all about getting them classified as social security checks. Send little monsters off to school and get them labeled disabled and get money from the government.

One woman hit the news years ago who had like 12 kids and it was amazing everyone one of them was disabled and she was raking in the social security disability money.

The people running the programs defend the b/s with all sorts of double talk and spin. The kooky poster probably has a do nothing political patronage job at the central school office and nothing better to do than troll the internet.

1 out of 10 kids are now special ed. In lots of cases it's a behavior problem, not a learning problem. How does anyone get a kid to do anything if they weren't taught by their parent to listen and do as they are told ?

We aren't ignoring the children but we are still marginalizing them and they are still winding up on welfare for 50 years. Meanwhile back at the school we have tripled the size of the staff for the same number of students. Learning disabilities was the greatest thing that ever happened to the teachers union.
My son was placed in Special Ed starting in kindergarten. At first I was happy, for I thought this meant that my son was going to get some real help with his already evident learning problems. It turns out that they didn't care about the kid. What they cared about was the flows of funding they could milk out of the government. They ignored my son's obvious struggles with the class material and placed him in front of this substandard so-called psychotherapist (most kids in Special Ed get a low quality therapist because they are cheap and the workers in the system get more money for themselves). The therapist labeled the family "dysfunctional" and wrote up that all of his learning problems stemmed from that. The idiot didn't know us! Except that we did not have a vey high income, though the needs of our children were met. The results of this educational neglect and mislabeling were horrible. My now grown son would have been better of if he had never, ever been placed in Special Ed. It would have been cheaper for the government to have directly hired tutors who knew how to work with kids with learning disabilities. Money placed in the hands of unionized Special Ed workers is wasted money.

My complaint does not include the Winston=Prouty Center, who did a wonderful job with my children when they werre preschoolers.

Are we currently in a "declared" war? No, we are not.
We gays have fought discrimination and fought to be included as equal citizens in this secular nation because some heteros have fought to have us excluded from our Constitutionally guaranteed equality.
Go ahead. Tell me that's not what has happened.
yeah ewe certainly implied it in 74, what the hell else does the 'Defense' Dept. do other than war??
I can link to many times here where over the past years where I pointed out the fact that WWII was the last Constitutionally declared war and that all since are unlawful. I've supported Ron Paul for years- the only politico and prez candidate who has also been consistantly anti-war* and anti-NWO and pro-Life etc.

"...our Constitutionally guaranteed equality." (to be able to murder innocents, which anyone with a brain knows the US military does daily)
So ewe just admitted to ewe'r ilk wanting to be included in unjust killing/war atrocities, that ewe'r no better than 'straights' and all not so 'loving/kind' etc. but just as prone to being evil and hence hypocritical as I've pointed out

Yeah and so what. You think a kid with ADHD doesn't know the "other health impaired" is a bad thing? Would you like to be labled "other health impaired" when you are in the fifth grade? Not only does the student know he is "defective and disabled", every other kid in his class knows the same thing. The system is set up with noble intentions (although how noble teachers unions were when they salivated in support of the increased numbers of teachers they would get because of these new programs) but the end result is an ineffective program which stigmatizes and marginalizes a huge percentage of the kids it is trying to help.

And it hurts other teachers as well as it has become a budget busting monster leaving the whole system without enough money to do other important work like having programs for exceptional students.... unlike almost every other country in the world.

Children with special needs need to be identified in order to help them and give them the best education possible, pretending that they are like everyone else does not help their education. Some children need more than one overworked teacher with a classroom of students can provide.

The stigma attached to being different is a lot less harmful than not getting a good education, teachers and their aids do their best with what they have, which isn't much these days. Their resources are very limited and their pay is abysmal for the important role they play in our children's development. They are lucky to have unions and so are our children.

While it would be nice to have more programs and money for advanced students, a basic good education is a human right for every child and must come first.

Public education does not get the support it needs these days and if we are to compete on a global scale, we need to recognize the importance of a good education.

I don't believe it is a bad thing and I certainly don't consider myself "defective". I think the bigotry and willful lack of comprehension is far worse than my learning differences.

My kid was "identified". Then the system did nothing while money was grabbed from the government. All the rights are going to teachers and administrators, not to the children.
