Your "trap" is transparent and you are pathetic.
No trap at all. I didn't try to trap you since I knew right from the start you were in over your head. There are a few other things that go into it we haven't even mentioned. But I'll save those for your analysis. If you decide to try to do it.

Why don't you just answer the question: Would anyone do a solar project as a good investment if there wasn't government subsidies for up to 38% of the cost?

That's your whole schtick, put out some vague accusations and then after they get destroyed by me, you just move the goalposts or ask a different question. When you are pressed for specifics, analysis, or facts to support your argument, you just ignore it all the while accusing others of your own bad behavior.

It's even more pathetic coming from an "expert" who doesn't even know the rules, e.g., VT state property tax exemption.

The only destruction here has been you by yourself. Just do the analysis and prove me wrong.

There's the issue, you haven't actually done anything except make a few vague accusations.

Your failed to perform any actual analysis of the scenario I gave (and proved you wrong) except show your ignorance of VT law.

Your inability to to actually discuss and analyze an issue shows a lack of maturity.

The information for the DIY scenario you provided was not enough to complete an analysis and apparently you don't know how to compute a percentage return on an investment not are you able to calculate amortization of an investment. I don't blame you for trying because I would have just pointed out how poorly you did it and how you missed very obvious considerations like maintenance and casualty loss and an inability to take advantage of the tax credit, and the fact that almost any other investment short of a savings account would be a better use of your money.

How ironic that you even know the word "maturity". Why don't you go ride your bike young fella.

So there it is, you finally admit your "trap"

Yes, your VT solar installation needs to be installed by a state partner installer if you want the incentives. I find it laughable that you thought you were tricking anyone with that. The same goes for maint cost, etc.

My "DIY scenario" was not a scenario at all, only a reference point for how much equipment $30 will get you. It showed once again that you are a liar and a fraud.

I provided a scenario for a smaller, professionally installed system to save ~$100+ per month which you were to scared to actually analyze (or are you too stupid?) The challenge still stands.

If you think solar will only provide a ~1% rate of return (thereby beating the average savings account) you are an idiot and I challenge you to prove it or zip it.

No trap. Just playing by your rules. And when you put up your DIY scenario you had no idea how much more was involved and thought you had put up a winning argument. Youthful exuberance and inexperience.

So now you admit that solar and wind are lousy unless you "partner" with the state. The Feds give us tax credits and accelerated depreciation, the state gives us tax credits and the SPEED program gives us above fmv feed in rates guaranteed and it still isn't enough as a huge percentage of the people who have applied for and looked at solar and wind under the SPEED program have decided not to go forward. That is, the people who are intelligent and can do the analysis. Alternative energy programs in this country are a taxpayer rip off funded in part by regressive hidden taxes with no real justification for doing it.

Let's hear your justification for supporting the government funding of solar and wind.

Pretty soon, after you graduate from high school, you will start to have a better perspective and you will drop most of the left wing clap trap you now think is great. That is if you have a brain.

There you go again accusing others of your own tactics, not surprising.
If you live in VT, you can have your system installed by "partner" and take the credit or save the installation cost if you are handy and forgo the credit. Which one is better for you depends on your circumstances.
As usual, you've done nothing here but put twist other people's words to suit your own ideological agenda. What a stunted little man you are.
It's clear you never had any intention of actually entering into any kind of serious discussion here. Especially with someone who knows more than you.
Still waiting for your analysis <snicker>

The partner accounts are another form of taxpayer rip off.

Are you kidding when you mention serious discussions. You have never ever wanted to do anything except insult people and dodge real discussions. Grow up Evan.

You know more than no one. You should stick to calling people names. It is safer for you than trying to debate people like me who are so much smarter than you. Go to sleep Evan. You have school in the morning.

You don't have to add the "snicker". We both know that every post is delivered by you with a sneer. Just assume I know you are sneering and when you start to discuss things without the insults and start to actually want to have a serious discussion then maybe people will stop calling you nuts and start taking you seriously.

That's rich coming from someone who continually refuses to engage in any actual discussion of their own arguments and continually refers to me a 15 year from Keene. There's a word for that, it's hypocrite.

Still waiting for your analysis. I feel I will be waiting for a long time...

How's that analysis coming?
