Vermont Cow Power gets 14 cents per kilowatt hour plus an assortment of grants and subsidies.

It cost one farm $3 million dollars for their electricity system...grants paid $1 million dollars.

speaking of nuclear power, Tesla said:
"Such energy is created by destroying the natural elements- That is a serious crime against nature and one day it's going to bring on catastrophe.
We shall be held responsible by future generations"

New Battery Could Help Solar And Wind Power The Grid
( Phys.org ) Researchers from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University have designed a low-cost, long-life battery that could enable solar and wind energy to become major suppliers to the electrical grid.

So that is one piece of information you can use to do your analysis. I have seen 4.2 hours to 4.5 hours all over the place. Tell us how you DIY would pay back based on what you posted. What will be the feed in rate after the meter hits zero? What are the utilities in NH and Vermont agreeing to pay?
You just keep plugging along, never acknowledging your distortions, ignorance and outright lies. Typical teabagger.

Since VT pays 0.20 $/kwhr, you only need a ~5kw system to produce ~6200 kwhr/year which equals ~$100 month.

Let's be conservative and buy a ~7kw system for $11,000. That's leaves $19,000 for installation to meet your $30,000 figure(although you said it would be MUCH more)

http://www.dmsolar.com/6grwi24sopap.html

Here's a 7.1kw system right here in VT you can monitor real time.

https://services.wattmetrics.com/dashboard.as...

In the course of a year it produced 9070 kwhr or ~$1800.

You, on the other hand, haven't produced jack shit.

Outrageous. I think that the feed in rate you are talking about is set by the SPEED program. The state forces the utility to pay that much and in return it is factored in to the rates everyone else has to pay. A hidden tax on rate payers. And a regressvie one at that. Not the utility's fault. Purely a foolish political program in the name of green energy.

I hope to see you post against other "regressvie" taxes and other "foolish political programs", not just ones that get your ideological panties in a twist.

Instead of just insulting me why don't you tell me how I am wrong? I don't think you can.

The SPEED program doesn't work without the subsidies and the hidden taxes. No one would do the program at fmv feed in rates and no tax subsidies. And that is a fact. The program is regressive as it has the poorest among us paying the highest percentage of their income in support of the program.

Not only that, most of the original applicants who have examined the program have decided not to participate.

Evan, you are barking up the wrong tree.

You are the intellectual equivalent of those third generation welfare recipients you always write about.

You constantly demand others to provide you information you are either too lazy or too stupid to find on your own. Then when you are shown to be a liar and a fraud once again, you just move on to the next topic, never actually doing any work, never providing proof, never actually learning anything.

The irony is that you are so deluded, you don't even see it.

It is my position that solar alternative energy subsidies are a mistake and a waste of taxpayer money. I know this because I have been involved with Solar and wind projects and know that the numbers don't work. The SPEED program requires that utilities charge all users for the losses they incur by buying above fm rate alternative energy. Those charges are equivalent to a hidden and regressive tax. You have challenged my statements but you are afraid of saying why.
Your constant method of operation is always the same. Insult but never debate. Grow up Evan.

You've been asked numerous times to show your work (or provide some projects you've been involved with) but refuse to do so. You make vague, blanket statements with no supporting facts but demand anyone who calls you on your bullshit to do exactly what you refuse to do.

You also have no idea what size solar setup will provide a certain amount of kwhr per year or how much it will cost. That alone makes your boast about working on solar projects bulshit.

You also don't understand how the cow power program works (or purposely gloss over the bits that don't help you grind your axe)

I get that you don't like certain subsidies because they get your ideological panties in a twist but all that makes you is a hypocrite (we already know you are a liar and a fraud)

Size and kw/hr production calulations? That stuff is all on line. Google it.
The cow power program requires subsidized feed in rates to work. The subsidies are the taxpayers and the other rate payers through increased rates. A hidden tax program. That alone makes it a poor program although it is a better program than solar or wind. They justify it by arguing their are other environmental benefits of questionable importance. But you love that left wing science nonsense don't you?
What is the return on investment for your residential $31k DIY setup? I already know that it is poor. And terrible unless it receives taxpayer subsidies. Why don't you prove me wrong since you are the one saying I'm wrong and you love alternative energy programs in keeping with your left wing science bias?

I have plugged the numbers in but like I posted in response to you. The monthly savings in dollars doesn't tell the whole story. If you are a residential consumer with a $125/month electric bill it will take a very long time to pay back your $31k DIY project. The big question is how much the feed in rate will be and you haven't answered that question.

If Solar projects with SPEED feed in rates of 25cents are not viable then how in the world can a DIY project be feasible with an after net of 6 cents? They aren't. They are rich people pet projects to be discussed and oohed and ahhed about over cocktails in discussions with people who don't know anything. Like you.

Solar hot water does work though. As do solar powered battery signs and highway markers.

Stop trying to argue points no one is making.

You don't need a 16kw system for $31,000 to save $100 per month.

You need a 5-6kw system.

Feed in rates don't matter. Just another red herring on your part.

Just because you don't like the federal tax credit, or the VT solar adder, or the VT rebate doesn't mean there aren't there.

A 5.5kw system at 5$/kw installed in VT will payback in 5-10 years.

Angry little man, aren't you? Perhaps you are so angry because you are to stupid to use any of the web based solar payback estimators?

Let me teach you how to fish you git.

Go to a site like: http://estimator.solar-estimate.org/

Plug in the following numbers

1. Use a VT zipcode
2. Put in 1200 kwhr/year for usage (national avg is 11-1200)
3. Click the "Estimate My System" button.
4. Find someone smarter than yourself and have them explain to you what all those numbers mean.

You're welcome.

That is only a part of it. So how much will it cost and what is the return on investment by saving a couple thousand a year in electricity costs? Amortize it over the life of the useful life of the equipment and give us the return. I can do that why can't you boy?
