Calculation you "saw". I thought you performed them? Caught you in yet another lie. <yawn>
\$31K will get you a 15kW DIY system. This will give you ~1550 kWhr/month around here. Caught you in another lie. <yawn>
LOL at replacing all the equipment after 22 years. Another lie.
Your stupidity never ends, if only we could harness it to generate power.
Let's see your analysis. Let's start with the number of people who can do a DIY project and why you think it is a practical solution to the economic problems of solar? I agree that for some people it could be a good hobby although never a significant contribution to our energy system or a good investment compared to other investments. How does the investment compare to buying
\$31k of tax free muni bonds paying 6%?

How much electricity will be produced in this latitude and the resultant savings based on what feed in rate after saving you bill of \$110/mo ? What is your estimate of ongoing maintenance? How much will the owner have to pay in additional taxes for improving his property? And your link to the lifespan of the equipment. I want you to educate us. If you can.

Even then Mike the only people who profit are the ones who take the tax credits or get the tax credit grants. In many cases the financiers market the tax credits to get the capital they need. The buyers pay less than the dollar value and get their desired return on investment the first year it goes into operation (and then they are gone as the long term payback is handed off to institutional investors who don't mind the risk for a 3% return) and the unwise developer of a SPEED project is locked in to a 27 year contract with no ability to raise the rates even if they go through the roof in the future.

Dodging what? I'm not the idiot who said:

"It would take much more than \$30k to save \$100 a month."

Still waiting to see your "analysis".

I never said YOU were smart enough to install solar panels, just a person with average intelligence.

Yea, and nobody thinks there will ever be another a "black swan event" ever again like the 2007 to 2009 housing and financial bubble...

And the utilities CEOs are so fat and rich they have become extraordinarily risk adverse. It means they will eventually shoot themselves in the head to avoid any whiff of perceived risk!

Dodge dodge and keep on dodging. How much money will your \$30k DIY project make? How many kilowatts will it produce in this latitude and what will it earn after it net meters your monthly residential 600kwh saving you \$114 that month? What will the feed in rate be?

Give us the projected return on investment taking into account maintenance costs, increased taxes, and diminishing production capacity as the equipment ages.

I haven't dodged anything. You are the one who doesn't back up their claims.

As usual, your numbers are bullshit.

So that is one piece of information you can use to do your analysis. I have seen 4.2 hours to 4.5 hours all over the place. Tell us how you DIY would pay back based on what you posted. What will be the feed in rate after the meter hits zero? What are the utilities in NH and Vermont agreeing to pay?
