We are starting to identify a problem in Brattleboro. The representative town meeting is dominated by rich liberals who have no sympathy or empathy of the outrageous spending they are doing and the affect on regualar people who own real estate in Brattleboro. At least they started talking. Now it is time for us to start getting involved by voting for candidates who can rein in spending. Do we really need a gym for policmen as part of the police fire project?

Today's Reformer bemoaned that fact that the tax bills for everyone are going up 11% this year because of the spending approved by the Representative Town Meeting. It mentioned the fact that the representatives are more "financially comfortable" and thus may not really understand the impact of raising taxes in a stagnant economy like Brattleboro's. That is an understatement. They are in fact clueless.

And the editorial goes on to wax philosophical about spending money as "investments" in our town. That is what is called first class "bulls##t".
