Letters

Full story: Brattleboro Reformer

After reading the interviews on the front page about how folks were planning to celebrate Veterans' Day, I read the story in the second section about Bob Miller's project called "Home At Last." This project helps to provide permanent housing and support services to homeless veterans.

In response to RJ Wanczyk's letter above, it appears as though this is yet another letter from an employee of the plant who has drunk the Kool-Aid.

The title of his letter "VY may be old, but it isn’t falling apart" says it all. The fact is that the plant is old and it IS FALLING APART. Maybe someone should show Ms Wanczyk the photographs of the collapsed cooling tower, which nearly fell down A SECOND TIME.

If that doesn't help, perhaps the list of leaks, breaks, mishaps that have occurred just in the past 12 months. That would occupy plenty of time.

Jeez, I can appreciate the fact that you may not wish to lose your job, but pictures don't lie. People maybe, but not pictures.

If that plant gets to be as old as half the New England Coalition I could see your point. They try to put the fear of GOD in you with their Jane Honda's school of nonsenses Is their ok with them using his name and powers that be. To keep the member ship up they had to start meeting on the street level and not up in the sky as their beliefs

What-me-worry:
What-you-stupid?

Please explain how corporate profits & your job security are more important the the future for our children & grandchildren.
To deny the failed safety of that dinosaur plant is not only ignorant but irresponsible.

Seems like ENVY has stepped up the PR letter writing campaign. Fortunately for the rest of us, the multiple inadequacies surrounding the plant and corporation are becoming increasingly clear to even the casually interested observer.

Cut all power lines north of C&S,west of Brat. Then, we turn down VY to 5%, it will run for 100 years without refueling so old fuel rods won't fill up the pool so fast and everyone else can stock up on whale oil and what wood they can scavage from their property. Problem solved.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Scorpio

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
