I have a 40-something friend just like the one in the article. Her husband and three young children continue to struggle to pay for the treatments that have kept her alive since her long-time insurance was forced to cancel plans by ObamaCare in November, 2013.

"the exchange website in her state (Virginia) was not working"

Her problem has nothing to do with Obamacare, it's 100% the fault of the hacks in her home state not doing their jobs. If she lived in another state she wouldn't have a problem.

If somebody goes to McDonalds and they screw up the order is it the CEO's fault or the moron who screwed up ?

The Obama Derangement Syndrome people suffer from is just a mirror image of Bush Derangement Syndrome. I don't know if medical treatment would help, but not likely and not likely some drug would either. People suffering from political derangement syndrome should suffer in silence so the rest of the people don't have to listen to them moaning and crying. Take it like a man, handle what life throws your way and stop sniveling it's Bush's fault or Obama's fault.

Tea party states like mine of Indiana do not open exchanges nor expand Medicaid. There are uninsured people here struggling and one doctor or emergency room trip will make them homeless with all the bills.

If anyone is That poor already then they are eligible for Medicaid and even if they don't have that they can still have a necessary Emergency Room visit covered by the U.S. govt. and the hospital has to serve them- it's been that way for years.

ACA affordable care act is not affordable for middle income folks or for states that did not expand Medicaid or states that have only one insurer offering plan. Like deregulation of healthcare did not "introduce competition" and make it affordable ten years ago. Plus doctors allocate spaces in their appointment slots based on what kind of insurance you have. Not exactly turning down insurance (because they would lose their Medicare billing privileges) but gaming the system so that there are only five Medicaid appointments per month to split between all the Medicaid patients. Affordable does not mandate accessible. And the first year the gov is subsidizing these plans from catastrophic claims. Wait for the premiums for the working class/middle class (theUNsubsidized) next year. ACA works for some, still not the solution for others. Like stitching up half the wound. For some it's still a disaster, not affordable, not yielding accessible care, not expanding Medicaid, still permitting insurance/medical monopolies. The death panels are real, only it's the greed of insurance and medical providers that is creating them, because they don't believe they are being paid enough to provide care.

Medicaid isn't offered in tea party states. Why would you have to have emergency care? That costs more than annual visits.

What's the republican plan for allowing all Americans health insurance?

-again showing ewe're total ignorance, or purposefully BSing as libs constantly do, especially the more authoritarian control freak ones who hate our freedoms and the constitution, and the libtards who drink the Kool-Aid
Fact: some States are not accepting Medicaid Expansion, but All States Do have Medicaid

ewe ask:
"Why would you have to have emergency care? That costs more than annual visits."
-cuz ewe claimed:
"There are uninsured people here struggling and one doctor or emergency room trip will make them homeless with all the bills."
-and I pointed out the fact that no such poor people have to worry about paying for an Emergency Room visit should they need to go, it's already covered by the federal govt. and they can't be turned down for ER treatment just for having no insurance since the hospitals get fed $$ and so must admit them

Fox Liberal Contributor Kirsten Powers: I’m Tired of “Having to Defend This President” Over Obamacare
http://www.infowars.com/fox-liberal-contribut...
Even Democrats are realizing Obama’s latest ACA extension is merely an exercise of his stated desire to work without Congress whenever possible. It’s become frustratingly clear the president and his minions are working to establish a precedent wherein the office of the executive branch can issue unilateral executive orders and deploy major policy changes at its whim.
Yesterday, National Journal’s Ron Fournier penned a piece titled,“Why I’m Getting Sick of Defending Obamacare,” in which he confessed his naivety at being conned by Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act promises and expressed exhaustion from playing apologist for the fundamentally flawed system.

Rand Paul Hints At 2016 Presidential Run
Americans are looking for “someone like myself”
http://www.infowars.com/rand-paul-hints-at-20...
When asked if he thinks Christie is a “true conservative”, following the Governor’s support for Medicaid expansion under Obamacare, Paul replied “You know, depends on how you define that; if you have a very loose definition, probably.”
“If you look at a lot of issues like on whether or not we should accept Obamacare, bring it to our state, expand Medicaid: those would be, I think at best, moderate positions.” Paul added.
The comments are sure to appeal to voters who believe Christie, a former attorney and lobbyist, to be an establishment backed ringer. The Senator noted that many Americans are beginning to realise that the push for the new law is less about healthcare and more to do with infringing liberty.

Obamacare Is Going To Be The Biggest Expansion Of The Welfare State In U.S. History
Nov 2013
http://www.infowars.com/obamacare-is-going-to... Can the U.S. government afford to pay for the health care of 38 million more people?
It is being projected that a decade from now 17 million Americans will be receiving Obamacare subsidies and an additional 21 million Americans will have been added to the Medicaid rolls. At a time when we are already running trillion dollar deficits, is this really something that the government should be taking on?

EMTALA is the law that mandates emergency care - but the mandate stops at stabilize - and they can transfer out. And not being able to refuse care still means hospitals can send you a bill, it does not mean free. For many years .......before laws were passed to...... Ummmm........ Discourage the practice........It was well known that ambulance companies would divert miles for patients with no insurance to state facilities. Healthcare is a business. A for profit system cannot mix with a government funded system - the nature of greed will kill it. There is no way this is sustainable without controlling what medical providers charge, how they are reimbursed, and patients own responsibility for their health, for example obesity not caused by genetic factors or general deconditioning. ......and the current system of charge per each test, procedure, or consultation. More procedures = more charges. On the other side DRG payments = grandma is discharged before it's safe or prudent = more money and grandma is readmitted sicker.

Paint it any color you want but that does not mean you will collect. Obama is banking on one thing and that is to crush the medical wages and level of life in general. also we are all going to die and this way he can get some of your savings before you die.
