this letter in the Greenfiel paper by Vernon's know-it-all kooktwit Howard Fairman says "Waste-to-energy plants emit high levels of air pollution, including toxic metals, chlorinated compounds and plastics.” Plus toxic ash."
-which is hyped BS, they have scrubbers stacks like the coal plants do and more pollution controls -->

Air Pollution Control Equipment:
Semi-dry flue gas scrubbers injecting lime, fabric filter baghouses, nitrogen oxide control system, mercury control system and continuous emissions monitoring (CEM) system
"Connecticut burns more of its post-recycled municipal solid waste than any other state. Less than 11 percent of the state's waste ends up in landfills. The next closest state is Massachusetts at 29 percent. However,
McCleary said, incineration is a more productive use of waste than burying it..." www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/20130107/PRI...
and besides, due to the direction of the prevailing winds, any pollution coming from such a plant in Vernon would mostly go toward NH and Mass, away from Vermont
although it should Not be built right on the same site as the still ticking dirtybomb AKA VY, it should be put down the CT River a bit more, nearer the Mass line, since the VY site is right across from a school and the Miller's organic farm

it could be built across the street from the Vernon dam, that way they would only have to run new transmission lines across the street to the VELCO’s switchyard /grid connection

a pothead behind the wheel actually did some good!
Maybe DOJ and DHS should look into threats posed by angry “far-right” bees?

Don't worry the whiny NIMBYs will be whining overtime on this one.
