Taking away kids who are not abused or neglected doesn't just happen in New Jersey. It goes on here in Vermont all the time. They blow some simple incident up way out of proportion and call it Neglect, take away the child in some secret court on a Friday night, and throw the parent's name in a blacklist registry. The parent who is stuck with a public defender doesn't have a chance.

Let's do some comparisons between Jersey and Vermont.

New Jersey is 7000 sq miles with 8 million people. That's a lot of people packed into a small state. But believe it or not, there are some very nice places down there. But you have to go to northwest NJ or southern NJ to see them.

With 8 million people you need services. So there's a shopping center or mall every 2 miles. And some of those malls are huge. There's one in Rockaway, NJ that's over 2.5 million sq ft on two floors. And 90% of the stores are either teen/women's clothing or shoes.

Everything is paved. So the lawns of the homeowners are a little park, and they defend their lawns and compete with each other to see who has the nicest one. They'll buy a 30 HP riding mower with $4,000 in attachments to mow their 100x150 lot.

But that also means the kids can't play in the yard either. And that's ok because the kids are inside playing video games anyway.
But a lot of Jerseyites have no lawns at all, because they live in condo complexes that have 1,000+ units.

Most Vermonters who travel there can't wait to come home.
Why? Because Vermont is 9,000 sq mi with 600 thousand people. So we're the opposite of NJ.

Our population is clustered in towns for the most part. The only area in Vermont that even resembles NJ is the Burlington-Essex Junction-Williston sprawl.

So we have a lot of.... nothing. There's no need to pave our back roads because it's cheaper to maintain them with a grader twice a year than to constantly patch with asphalt and repave them every couple years.

We don't lock our doors. And we snicker when we're at an ice cream stand and a car from NJ pulls in, they all get out, and CHIRP! he locks all the car doors while standing in line outside right in front of the car.

Even our winters are different. Our snow is powder. It's lightweight. It shovels easily. Their snow is that heavy, wet stuff that turns black alongside the roads within two days. They hate the snow because they have to drive in it in the morning along with 7 million others, and it's a 20 mile traffic jam to work.

We just throw it into 4WD and go.

Jersey people come to Vermont to "get away from it all". We do the same thing by simply staying home.

-yeah but they bring the disease with them (themselves)
Don't forget what 'Jersey Sure Smells' said in post #12 here about the ongoing threat against our very existence from the scummy enemy south of us!
Don't you agree that we need a 'Final Solution' to deal with that state?

remember this?

www.volokh.com/2010/10/19/when-i-hear-pure-ve... Curtis Reed Jr., the Chair of the Vermont State Advisory Committee On Civil Rights (I’m not sure whether that’s current or past chair), has this argument against the Brian Dubie for Governor “Pure Vermont” advertising campaign:

never forget that the actual KKK was started in the south by scoundrel Freemasons, the secret society that nuketard and Bush-loving right wingnut Mike Hebert belongs to.
The famous pig-Tazered "Don't taze me bro!" dude was Tazed right after trying to do what the late Tim Russert tried to do on Meet The Press, simply ask the basturd about his membership in the evil secretive order->

Back in 2004 he acted ignorant about and didn't want to hear about the fact that Bush & Kerry are both members of that other more private and powerful secret society- the Order of Skull & Bones. Both have initiations (baptism into the Dark side) that involve death symbols, the skull and coffin etc.
Real Vermonters have never been very racist, unless one considers Flatlander to be a race

Government officials described the recent alleged murder of three non-Jews in Kansas by former KKK leader Frazier Glenn Cross as a “hate crime”—though no Jews were killed. His intention to kill Jews, said officials, is enough for indictment under the federal Matthew Shephard Hate Crimes Prevention Act. This means he could be punished three times more harshly than if he had killed the same people without anti-Semitic feelings.

Yet last week the justice system had a very different response to a similarly violent hate crime.

In December 2013, black, homosexual student Taj Patterson was violently assaulted in Brooklyn by Jewish “shomrim”(security police) who are Ultra-Orthodox and thus strongly oppose homosexuality. The attackers, who blinded Patterson in one eye, shouted anti-homosexual epithets.

But a New York Grand Jury ruled last week that the five attackers will not be charged with a hate crime, only civil penalties. Jewish watchdog group,“Failed Messiah,” describes the attack:

No, what keeps a lot of people from moving here is the fact there are no major corporate jobs. A vast majority of Vermont jobs are either agricultural or in small shops with fewer than10 people.

Oh, and it actually gets cold in winter.
