Tucker Carlson: IRS rules preventing church electioneering is an ‘assault’ on Christians by atheists
By David Edwards August 3, 2014

"Fox News host Tucker Carlson asserted overt the weekend that a group of atheists had launched an “assault on people of faith” because they had asked the IRS to enforce existing anti-electioneering rules.

Last month, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) announced that the it had settled a lawsuit with the IRS regarding un-enforced restrictions on politicking from the pulpit.

After the 2012 election, FFRF filed the lawsuit over a reported IRS moratorium on enforcing anti-electioneering restrictions. To resolve the lawsuit, the IRS agreed to put “in place a protocol to enforce its own anti-electioneering provisions,” FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor said in a statement.

But because the IRS has currently suspended all investigation of tax-exempt entities — including churches — due to a congressional investigation over accusations that the agency persecuted conservatives, the FFRF settlement was expected to have no immediate affect.

On Saturday, Tucker Carlson told Pajamas Media Legal Editor J. Christian Adams that this was another examples of “liberal politicians, liberal groups asking the IRS to crush organizations that they don’t agree with.”

“They want to use IRS as a weapon against Christianity, against faith,” Adams agreed.“Using the power of government to go after faith, that’s what it’s about. Sure, there are going to be churches in the South that go after Democrats, but it’s a much bigger and far more dangerous campaign they’re on.”

“This is basically an assault on people of faith,” Carlson opined.

“They want to turn belief in constitutional principles, belief in God into a political thing,” Adams declared.“They want to use the IRS to go after people who express their faith from the pulpit and urge action. That’s the important part, they want people who believe to shut up.”

Hunted in Russia - documentary

"Hunted in Russia explores the terror that gay people in Russia are calling the "hunting season". This shocking documentary offers unique access to vigilante groups that track down, beat up and humiliate gay men and women. It depicts a country troubled by disturbing homophobic violence and intimidation -- a country in which gay people are treated like animals and hunted for sport.

Russia is officially welcoming gay athletes and spectators to the Sochi Winter Olympics. But in a country where it's thought only 1% of gay people dare to live completely openly, it appears to be a hollow gesture.

This extraordinary Dispatches documentary has gained unique access to the vigilante gangs that target gay men and women. The film depicts a country troubled by disturbing violence and distressing intimidation.

Six months after the Russian parliament unanimously passed a law to protect children from 'non-traditional' relationships, this film explores the terror that gay people in Russia are calling 'hunting season'."

Once upon a time in good old America it was sport to hunt down and terrorize rotten corrupt politicos, tar & feather em. Now the PC libtard crowd hunts down and viciously victimizes the few good politicians who dare tell the truth about things like the homosexual agenda and abortion and socialism etc.

Atheist TV Officially Launches; David Silverman Criticizes History Channel for Presenting Bible as History
Stoyan Zaimov July 31, 2014

"The world's first ever all-atheist TV channel officially launched Tuesday, with American Atheist president David Silverman declaring it is geared toward all atheists, everywhere. Silverman also criticized TV channels that present religion as truthful, using as an example the History Channel's "The Bible" miniseries in 2013.

"Atheist TV is geared toward every atheist in the broadest possible sense. Whether they call themselves atheists or skeptics or humanists or any of the other labels that people use to identify themselves, Atheist TV is for them," Silverman announced in a speech at the launch party.

He noted that the number of non-believers in the United States is on the rise, making up as much as one-fifth of the population. Silverman then criticized TV channels that, despite those statistics, continue "kowtowing" to religious preferences.

"The TV Networks kowtow to the liars who make money off misinformation. The History Channel treats the Bible like history," Silverman said.

"How can we trust what the History Channel says if it tells us that Jesus walked on water? The Discovery Channel treats ghosts like they are real. How can we believe that 'Mythbusters' is telling the truth?" he continued.

"Bigfoot, psychics, aliens, spooks, spirits, gods, devils — all bunk, all pushed by the so-called 'truthful and scientific stations.'""...

Private and religious school vouchers ruled unconstitutional in North Carolina
August 25, 2014

"Last Thursday, a Superior Court judge ruled that North Carolina’s Opportunity Scholarship program is unconstitutional as,“The General Assembly fails the children of North Carolina when they are sent with public taxpayer money to private schools that have no legal obligation to teach them anything.”

In December of last year, a group of active and retired educators, a former state school superintendent and several parents joined together to file a lawsuit charging that the law violates the state constitution’s requirement that state funds be used “exclusively for establishing and maintaining a uniform system of free public schools.” Instead, the Opportunity Scholarship program was set up with every intention of funneling taxpayer dollars to unaccountable private and religious schools. The voucher program alone would have drained $11 million dollars from public schools this year.

It appears that Justice Hobgood was listening to the concerns of parents and educators. In his ruling he stated,

"It appears to this Court that the General Assembly is seeking to push at-risk students from low income families into non public schools in order to avoid the cost of providing them a sound basic education in public schools… The General Assembly fails the children of North Carolina when they are sent with public taxpayer money to private schools that have no legal obligation to teach them anything. Without any such obligation this appropriation is unconstitutional in that it serves only private interests. The expenditure of public funds raised by taxation to finance the operation of privately operated, managed and controlled schools is prohibited by Article 5 Section 2(1) of the North Carolina Constitution."

After the ruling, Rodney Ellis, president of the North Carolina Association of Educators, added his thoughts, saying,

"Today is truly a great day for our students, our public schools and all North Carolinians. We would like to thank the Court for protecting and upholding the North Carolina Constitution and finding opportunity scholarships unconstitutional. Clearly the idea of using taxpayer money to fund unaccountable private schools is unacceptable."

This win for North Carolina’s students comes on the heels of a recent win for students in Tennessee, where vouchers and parent trigger legislation were defeated in the legislature. Unfortunately, some politicians are still intent on funneling money away from our most vulnerable students and public schools, and instead into the pockets of their rich friends and charter operators."

One In Three Americans Want 'Under God' Removed From Pledge Of Allegiance
David Badash September 09, 2014

""One nation under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954 to respond to Communism. Now, more than a third of Americans want it removed.

A poll finds that more than one in three Americans think "one nation under God" should be removed from the official version of the Pledge of Allegiance. The phrase was not in the original pledge -- it was added in 60 years ago when the nation feared the threat of communism.

But most Americans are completely unaware the phrase isn't part of the original -- just as many Americans wrongly believe that America was founded as a Christian nation.

A polling company commissioned by the American Humanist Association told 1001 people:

"For its first 62 years, the Pledge of Allegiance did not include the phrase 'under God.' During the Cold War, in 1954, the phrase 'one nation indivisible' was changed to read 'one nation, under God, indivisible.' Some people feel this phrase in our national pledge should focus on unity rather than religion."

"After seeing this information," the Seidewiz Group reports, "34% of Americans said they believed "under God' should be removed from the Pledge, vs. 66% who felt it should remain."

Unsurprisingly, only about 20 percent of those who support removing the religious reference are Christian. Another 41 percent are of a different faith. And nearly 63 percent do not subscribe to any organized religion.

“The current wording of the Pledge marginalizes atheists, agnostics, humanists and other nontheists because it presents them as less patriotic, simply because they do not believe in God,” Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association, said in a statement. “We are encouraged by these findings, which suggest with even a small amount of education, more Americans are in favor of restoring the Pledge to its original wording.”

The group is launching a new campaign, Don't Say The Pledge.

Huckabee wants to fire atheists working for the government
September 28, 2014 by Michael Stone

"Dreams of Theocracy: Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is urging Christian conservatives to vote so that those who “refuse to hear God’s heart” can be replaced by the faithful.

Speaking at the 2014 Values Voter Summit this weekend Huckabee said:

"Some of you are frustrated and even upset and angry about America, and I get it. And I say to you, the answer is as simple as it is that the answer to the phones in our hearts that God is ringing. When we register people to vote, when we get them to the polls to vote, when we hire the people that will take our values to this city, and when we fire the ones who refuse to hear not only our hearts, but God’s heart."

Huckabee, the host of Fox News’“Huckabee,” and former governor of Arkansas, ran for president in 2008 and is considering running for president again in 2016.

In a press conference before his speech, Huckabee said he will likely decide on whether or not to run in the early Spring of next year.

The suggestion that federal employees who “refuse to hear God’s heart” should be replaced by those that do “hear God’s heart” is deeply disturbing, and contrary to the secular values upon which this nation was founded.

Indeed, the US Constitution stipulates that no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States. The “No Religious Test Clause” of the United States Constitution is found in Article VI, paragraph 3, and states that:

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

In his speech, Huckabee also railed against the courts. Angry about marriage equality for gays and lesbians, Huckabee said that the Supreme Court and judicial system don’t have any more authority and power than the legislative and the executive branches of government:

"This nonsense that has happened where individual judges around the country have decided that they can upend the duly passed laws and constitutional limits in states that affirm natural marriage — we need to say no: judges don’t get to legislate."

Huckabee concluded his speech by saying:

"That’s how we change America, my friend. Let’s make this a nation once again that unapologetically bows its knee before a holy God."

Huckabee’s good-natured manner masks a dangerous yearning for an America that never was, but could be: a Christian theocracy built on ignorance and religious superstition. It is incumbent upon those that respect the secular values upon which this nation was founded to reject and oppose Christian extremists like Huckabee and others appearing at the 2014 Values Voter Summit this weekend."
