Sanders to NRC: Change your rules

So the best the democrats is jawboning everyone to death. This is Sanders at the senate hearing and throughout his career.

Meanwhile at the hearing the Republicans were hinting if you don’t do as we say we are going to yank funding from you agency. It might not be today, but god help you when we get back into power. They were banging around the bushes the agency was giving a huge amount of funding, more employees and new headquarters in anticipation of the industry’s rebirth. Well, the rebirth never happened to the scale they anticipated. And today they anticipate very bleak future. So the Republicans are intimidating we are going to clay back those monies, if you don’t do as we wish. The Republicans made a similar threat in the late 1990s and got great results.

Then the Jazcko deal where the NRC commissioners ganged up on the democratic chairmen…made him resign.

So the republicans use their power all the time for a aims…while the democrats restrain to use a similar or higher power to make the government officials do their bidding. Even if they have a gross advantage with gaining political office.

Have you ever seen a committee democrat scare the pants off or get rid of a pro industry republican commissioner…no. Have you ever seen the democrats on the senate committee conspire with a democrat NRC commissioner and her staff…to turn out a Republican commissioner as political punishment and retribution.

Our guys tie their hands behind their backs before a gun fight when participating in this committee, while republicans always bring their automatic AK 47s to corral.

"Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) commissioners testified on efforts to implement the Fukushima Near-Term Task Force recommendations. The task force, formed in reaction to the nuclear power plant failure after Japan’s 2011 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami, released a series of recommendations on nuclear energy safeguards. They include requiring licensees to upgrade plants to protect against earthquakes or other natural disasters. Facilitie s must also have detailed emergency plans for long-term black outs at nuclear power plants. Basically Bernie is a socialist libertarian…

Do I think the state should have a seat at the table, No. Bernie and his cohorts should use their hammer to make energy obay….to set good federal standards for all the plants.

He is a socialist tea bagger always intending to play the weak hand with the big boys.

I saw Bernie on CNN debating with Congresswoman Bachman. She ate his lunch. He was long winded and dictatorial and even got angry at one point. Bachmann said one of his statements was a lie, that republicans want to destroy SS, and it was. And Bernie got all flustered. A big embarrassment for Vermont.

Bernie has a lot of opinions and spouts a lot of facts but never really makes the connection between the facts and what his opinions are. Very clever and obviously enough to dupe the Vermont voters. Time to elect someone we can be proud of.

This is from the NRC chairwoman speech:

“The regulator must be free to make safety-related decisions, unencumbered by political or promotional influences. And while independence is a critical consideration, it’s only one aspect of a regulator’s effectiveness. The regulator must be well-funded. You need enough funds to attract and retain highly qualified staff and conduct necessary inspections and analyses. And that staff needs to be large enough to manage its responsibilities and ensure robust oversight. The regulatory body should operate openly and transparently, offering opportunities for public involvement and providing ample documentation of its decision-making to the public.”

In other words, the republican got her knees knocking over fear the of the republicans reducing agency funding…they are intimidating the agency.

I just saying, the democrats can’t ever get the chairperson shaking in her boots over better safety and being more honest.

And thus is the difference between the republicans and democrats…

The democrats don't know how to use power and intimidation to make their aims..

And 5 plants shutting down with some 100 plants…that is another cut of 5% budget.

Not true. Republicans use the filibuster to make the rich richer and to get rid of the middle class.
