U.S. Senator Protests Climate Talks With Activist Who Believes The UN Is The Anti-Christ
http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2012/12/08/1...

By Zack Beauchamp on Dec 8, 2012

"Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), the lead Republican on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, held a climate-denial press conference at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change on Thursday. Accompanying Inhofe were two rather questionable characters: an activist who believes the UN is starting the apocalypse and a British Lord who was banned from all UN climate conferences for impersonating the representative from Myanmar.

Inhofe’s first guest, Cathie Adams, is the President of the Texas Eagle Forum and former Texas GOP chair. She must have felt quite uncomfortable speaking at a United Nations function, as she has maintained for over a decade that the UN was the anti-Christ’s vehicle for stealthily taking over the world. From a 1999 newsletter:

The Bible tells us that in the end times there will be a world government headed by a world leader, called the anti-Christ, who will profess a world religion, but did you ever think you would live in the day when these things would come into being? That is exactly what the United Nations is doing behind the backs of most Americans.

Adams has singled out environmentalism as part of the UN’s sinister agenda, suggesting a fictional UN Pledge of Allegiance would require “worship[ping] the Earth.” She also believes, among other things, that the CO2 emissions do not cause climate change and that vaccination is a plot to steal American freedom.

Inhofe’s other guest, Lord Christopher Monckton, has a storied history of making things up, especially with respect to climate science. It’s a pattern Monckton fell into at the Doha negotiations, where he took the platform reserved for the Myanmarese delegation and claimed to be speaking for “Asian coastal nations.” The double pretense got him ejected from the nation of Qatar and banned from every future UN climate summit.

One might think this clown show would embarrass the Senator, but his record suggests otherwise: Inhofe has claimed that climate science is a hoax that contravenes the will of God and is currently working with the Heartland Institute — which suggests that climate change advocates are like the Unabomber — to de-fund the Environmental Protection Agency."

ewe'r George Soros-funded websites like that one love to lie (no surprise) and they lied about Lord Monckton, he was Not ejected from Qatar, the UN bullies Tried to get Qatar to kick him out but he has diplomatic clout that UN scum couldn't override.
He in fact called into Alex Jones' show via Skype Friday from Qatar the day after being kicked out of the globalist's propAgenda fest.
He may be "banned from every future UN climate summit" but that just shows how UN 'dignitaries' are so fair and balanced, allowing all scientific views to be heard pppffffffffftttt!
Not saying Monckton's real climate scientist but there are those that are who also get shunned from UN functions cuz they don't go along with the junk science claims that are fully debunked by Facts like the fact that the Earth's average temp hasn't increased at all in 15 years.
Yesterdays Alex Jones show can be heard at Infowars.com and GCNlive.com

Go to Youtube and put in 'Agenda 21' to learn about how the loving UN wants to save us from the 'evils' of private property ownership/use and sovereignty, goals that are also in the Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto

Atheists Condemn Kansas Gov.'s Issuance of "Day of Collective Repentance to God"
http://secular.org/news/atheists-condemn-kans...
Thu, 12/06/2012

"Washington, DC-The Secular Coalition for America today condemned Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback for issuing an overtly religious proclamation and taking part in an upcoming event sponsored by organizations that seek to replace the nation's secular government with Christian theology.

In the official proclamation for Brownback's "Day of Restoration," the Republican governor urged citizens to "collectively repent of distancing ourselves from God and ask for His mercy on us." In conjunction with the proclamation, Brownback released a video in anticipation of the upcoming "Reign Down" prayer rally to take place on Saturday, December 8, in Topeka.

"It's unconscionable that Gov. Brownback, who was elected to serve all citizens, has decided to use his position in government to further a religious ideology," said Edwina Rogers, executive director for the Secular Coalition for America. "It is not lawmakers' jobs to tell citizens to pray or to promote religion."

Described as day of "worship and prayer," "Reign Down" is sponsored by the several government-affiliated groups and leaders, including the Congressional Prayer Caucus and Republican Rep. Trent Franks.

Brownback has been involved in other events that insert religion into government. In August of 2011, he spoke and delivered a prayer at Texas Governor Rick Perry's prayer rally and has ties to several key leaders in the Dominionist movement-which seeks to govern the United States with Christian theology-including Lou Engle, who is also a sponsor of "Reign Down."

"The governor's proclamation and participation in the event is exclusionary to thousands of Kansans who do not subscribe to this particular brand of Christianity-both religious and nonreligious Americans," Rogers said. "It's disturbing to see so many lawmakers involved in an event that not only excludes so many of their constituents, but ignores one of the core founding principles of our nation: the separation of church and state."

The Secular Coalition for America has held initial organizing calls for a state chapter in Kansas. The chapter will lobby state lawmakers to protect and strengthen the secular character of the government."

West Point cadet quits military academy because of pervasive Christian evangelism
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/12/08/west-po...
December 8, 2012

"When Blake Page announced this week that he was quitting West Point a few months before graduation, citing the overt religiosity on campus, he raised recurring questions about the pervasiveness and impact of evangelical Christianity within the ranks of the US military.

“I do not wish to be in any way associated with an institution which willfully disregards the Constitution of the United States of America by enforcing policies which run counter to the same,” Mr. Page wrote in his letter of resignation to the US Military Academy at West Point, in New York.

He cites, among other things, routine prayers at mandatory events for cadets and the practice of awarding off-campus passes and credit to students who take part in religious retreats and chapel choirs. These activities, in turn, foster “open disrespect of non-religious new cadets,” Page argued, adding that he had been told at West Point that it was not possible for people to have morals without believing in God.

This is not the first time such charges have been leveled within a military training academy. The US Air Force Academy came under similar criticism in 2005 for conferring preferential treatment on cadets who were evangelical Christians and promoting proselytizing in the ranks.

A survey commissioned by the Air Force Academy in 2010 showed some improvements in the climate of religious tolerance on campus, but also found that many cadets still felt pressured to take part in religious activities. Nearly half of the non-Christian cadets surveyed, for example, said their fellow students have a “low tolerance” for atheists, a 20 percent jump from a similar 2008 survey.

Charges of evangelism went international when the Pentagon came under fire in 2010 for using gun sights engraved with Bible verses, fueling concerns that the war in Afghanistan would be seen as a military crusade. Some Pentagon officials at first dismissed complaints against the gun sights, comparing them to US currency engraved with “In God We Trust,” but senior officers demanded that the military stop using them.

This came on the heels of reports that Air Force missileers were receiving Bible-centered ethics training, with the aim of helping them shake off lingering doubts about firing nuclear weapons. The training – which had been in place for almost two decades and was known jokingly among the airmen as “Jesus loves nukes”– was halted in 2011.

“God and country is a big part of the military culture,” says Page in a phone interview with the Monitor.“Anytime we have a ceremony of any type, there’s always prayer.”

During his time at West Point as the head of the Secular Student Alliance, Page helped to establish “nontheist chapel time,” an alternative for nonreligious cadets.“Before [that, if you didn't go to chapel] you could either go back to your room or have cleaning detail,” Blake recalls.“A friend of mine was made to sing and dance and recite knowledge and do all sorts of embarrassing things while everyone else went to church.” " ...

Colin Powell Urges Congress To Remove Abortion Restrictions For Military Women
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/12/11/13...
By Tara Culp-Ressler on Dec 11, 2012

"Retired General Colin Powell, who served as the Secretary of State under former President George W. Bush, has joined dozens of other military leaders to call on Congress to improve abortion access for military women, particularly women who have become pregnant from rape.

Currently, the Defense Department only offers abortion services to military women when their lives are in danger, and doesn’t offer any narrow exemptions even in the cases of rape or incest — despite the fact that non-military federal employees, as well as women who are covered under federal programs like Medicaid or Medicare, have coverage for the abortion services they need in those cases. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s (D-NH) proposed amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act — which has already passed the Senate — would correct this discrepancy by allowing the military to fund abortions for survivors of rape and incest.

In a letter to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Powell and the other military leaders came out in support of Shaheen’s amendment, pointing out that military women deserve the same access to reproductive services as federal civilian employees already have:

It has been our privilege to lead and serve alongside the brave men and women of our armed forces and we believe that they deserve the best medical care that our country can provide. We were therefore greatly disappointed to learn that, by federal statute, the Department of Defense is barred from providing insurance coverage for abortion except where a pregnant woman’s life is endangered. Unlike other current federal restrictions on abortion coverage, the military ban provides no exception for cases of rape and incest. The current policy is unfair and must be changed.

Restoring abortion coverage to our servicewomen and military family members who are survivors of rape and incest would bring the Department of Defense in line with the policy that governs other federal programs, such as Medicaid or the Federal Employee Health Benefit program. At the very least, our military women deserve the same access to care as civilian women who rely on the federal government for their health care. Our servicewomen commit their lives to defending our freedoms; Congress should respect their service and sacrifice and provide them with the same level of health care coverage it provides civilians.

Studies have shown that rates of unintended pregnancy tend to be higher among military women because their contraception use is often lower, underscoring the military’s responsibility to better address women’s full range of reproductive needs. An estimated 200,000 military women serving in active duty would gain expanded abortion access if Shaheen’s amendment is passed.

Since the House has already passed a version of the National Defense Authorization Act that does not include Shaheen’s amendment, the two chambers must work out a final version of the bill in committee. But Powell’s fellow Republicans may still represent a road block. Anti-choice legislators blocked a similar amendment that Shaheen introduced last year."

Google's Image Search Now Requires Explicit Queries For Explicit Results
http://search.slashdot.org/story/12/12/12/210...
Posted by Soulskill

"Several readers sent word of a change to Google's implementation of SafeSearch for image searches. http://www.zdnet.com/google-com-now-censors-e...
There used to be three settings: Off, Moderate, and Strict.(You can still see these settings on, for example, Google's UK image search.) Now, for U.S. users they've made Moderate the default, and the only other option is to "Filter Explicit Results." Going into settings provides no way to turn it off. That said, Google still lets users search for explicit content if the search terms they enter are specific to that type of content. A Google rep said, "We are not censoring any adult content, and want to show users exactly what they are looking for — but we aim not to show sexually-explicit results unless a user is specifically searching for them. We use algorithms to select the most relevant results for a given query. If you're looking for adult content, you can find it without having to change the default setting — you just may need to be more explicit in your query if your search terms are potentially ambiguous. The image search settings now work the same way as in Web search.""

Michigan Advances One Of The Nation’s Most Extreme Abortion Bans
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/12/12/13...
By Tara Culp-Ressler on Dec 12, 2012

"The Michigan State Senate passed HB 5711, an omnibus anti-abortion bill that sparked widespread protests over the summer when it was first considered in the House, by a 27-10 vote on Wednesday afternoon. The legislation has been stalled since it passed Michigan’s House in June.

The measure represents one of the nation’s most far-reaching abortion restrictions. When Michigan lawmakers first took up HB 5711 over the summer, hundreds of protesters rallied against the massive 45-page, GOP-sponsored legislation. HB 5711 would impose a host of new restrictions on women seeking to terminate a pregnancy — such as requiring doctors to prove that their patients haven’t been “coerced” into having the procedure, limiting abortion access for women in rural areas, and imposing guidelines for disposing of fetal remains in the same way that the state disposes of dead bodies. The legislation also seeks to mandate unnecessarily and complicated regulations that could force the state’s abortion clinics out of business.

In addition to the recently approved anti-union legislation that Michigan lawmakers pushed through their current lame duck session, state legislators have also been busy advancing a slew of extreme anti-choice initiatives over the past week. The Michigan Senate approved measures that will prevent private insurance companies from offering coverage for abortion services and allow doctors to refuse to perform abortions based solely on their personal beliefs.

HB 5711 is now headed back to the House to be considered for final passage, since the Senate made a few minor changes to the legislation. Republicans hold the majority in the state’s House by a 59-51 margin."

Families Of Spain's 'Stolen Babies' Seek Answers — And Reunions
http://www.npr.org/2012/12/14/167053609/famil...
by Sylvia Poggioli
December 14, 20

"Allegations of the existence of a secret network of doctors and nuns who stole newborn babies and sold them for adoption are reviving a dark chapter in Spain's recent history.

More than 1,000 people have gone to court hoping to track down sons and daughters or brothers and sisters they were told died in childbirth.

In Madrid's Puerta del Sol square last month, Antonio Iniesta stood next to a poster with the words bebes robados (stolen babies). His demonstration is intended to publicize his search for a brother he's convinced is alive.

Iniesta tracked down his mother's 1957 hospital record and shows its conflicting handwritten remarks: One says a male child was stillborn; the other refers to his family's "social distortion."

He says it means "a state of poverty that can damage the physical and emotional well-being of the child." His family, Iniesta says in an interview with NPR, was poor.

Roots In The Franco Era

The theft of newborns began with the Franco dictatorship in 1939. It came to light three years ago after former Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzon investigated the abduction of children taken forcibly from women imprisoned because they were leftists. He estimated that by 1950, the number of abducted babies had reached 30,000.

Journalist Natalia Junquera says the baby theft was an attempt at social engineering by Antonio Vallejo-Najera, a psychiatrist trained in Germany in the 1930s. Vallejo-Najera considered the mothers to be dangerous because, Junquera says, he thought "those women had inside the seed of Marxism, and if those children remained with their mothers, the Marxism [would] grow in those children."

The system outlived Franco's death in 1975 and continued at least through the 1980s. Some estimates put the total as high as 300,000 stolen babies.

The guiding principle was that the child would be better off raised by an affluent, conservative and devout Catholic family, who would also pay up to $25,000 at today's rates.

"To steal a baby you needed a doctor willing to do it, and also a nun," Junquera says. "They were acting like they were gods, deciding who deserved a child and who didn't."" ...

Fischer: God Didn't Stop CT School Shooting Because He's a 'Gentleman' Who Doesn't Go Where He Is Not Wanted
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/fischer...
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Friday, 12/14/2012

"Bryan Fischer spent the first hour of his radio program today discussing this morning's truly horrific shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut, which he, of course, blamed http://www.youtube.com/watch...
on the fact that prayer, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments are not taught in public schools.

Fischer said http://www.youtube.com/watch...
that God could have protected the victims of this massacre, but didn't because "God is not going to go where he is not wanted" and so if school administrators really want to protect students, they will start every school day with prayer:"
