So what would you do if you were getting hammered in the courts of public opinion for breaking your primary campaign promise? Sshumlin promised no new taxes and now Vermont is planning on raising taxes to the tune of seventy million dollars. Shumlin's answer to the public outrage....change the subject! So now he thinks himself the hero for talking pot and not a zero for failing to Veto new taxes? Shumlin is just one more politician that needs to be fired next election!

people don't mind paying tons of taxes, they vote for more and more taxes so why complain about it? just pay or slum it so you don't have to pay.

Are they thinking that if their subjects are stoned, they wont care that The State of Vermont is digging deeper and deeper into their pockets? The fewer that pay in, the more they have to pay. Sooner or later they will have to find more people to pay in. The next thing you know, everybody with a paycheck will be "rich" in the eyes of Vermont Government!

If Shumlin can keep his mindless minions stoned enough they won't complain about his incompetence; the Vermont news media must be constantly intoxicated.

Nobody ever means it when they say: "No new taxes". Unless they are talking about the most upper of the classes!

"Please don't let the governor fool you. He is all for the taxing. He just wants to be re-elected in 2014, so he will pretend that he doesn't agree w/the House, but in the end will make some sorry excuses that he must go along with it, to help get us out of this or that........When will we wake up and realize that we need to stop voting these same clowns in to office year after year? They are killing us and this state! I am a high school graduate and have taken college classes, but I hold no degree, but I can see that their economics are terrible. It doesn't take a genius."
