Colleges push tuition aid for illegal immigrants

Wading into the politically charged immigration debate, a group of colleges and universities is urging Congress to give illegal immigrants tuition aid and a path to citizenship in light of efforts in several states to block them.

No, the lesson here is that colleges are merely BUSINESSES anymore, and if it's got a pulse and is breathing, they want your student financial aid money whether or not you have aptitude for the classwork, and apparently, don't care if you even speak the language. Once the money is in their coffers, they don't much give a shyte how well you do in school. That's what the lesson is.

This is going a little too far. They have cut aid to U.S. citizens. U.S. citizens keep getting less and less aid, but they want to get aid for illegal immigrants? This is out of control. We go into debt for our educations so we can enter a job market so flooded with degrees that people with Masters degrees and PhDs cannot find work. Now they want to flood the job market more with people who did not get themselves into debt to get their education?
Of course colleges are pushing for government aid for illegal immigrants to attend their schools. Colleges are nothing but businesses these days. Recruit and churn out. Recruit and churn out. That is the current state of higher education.

Why don't the colleges push tuition aid for hard working single Mothers that are trying to put their daughters through college so they will be a credit to society and not a burden? I am so sick and tired of the issues with illegal immigrants!! We need to take care of our own backyard first!!!

Why don't you put her in the military and have her earn her college education. If you are a citizen you have that option , they don't.

The college board lost all credibility when it changed the SAT from an aptitude test to a general scholastic achievement test. It was then made very clear that they were no longer interested in seeing quality applicants.

ILLEGALS are not entitled to U.S. funding! This situation was created long ago in the late 70's or early to mid 80's when the schools turned their cheeks on this illegal act: the schools get paid by each student and they were receiving money for illegals as-well. Students are supposed to be registered by their parents or foster parent, etc with Birth Certificates in hand and medical records of current shots and what not. How is it that these things were apparently overlooked? Students attended certain schools within their district and the parents had to show proof of residence, etc! When I called the attention to a teacher I knew in California, she said "I don't want to make waves".

We have to stop the flow of jobs out of this country. We have to stop the influx of workers who enter our country to take our Jobs.

We need to stop the offshore outsourcing of Jobs, freeze the H-1B visa program, and punish employers who hire illegal immigrants.

Schools are forbidden by the Federal Govt from making the distinction between legal and illegal residence. You got a water bill, you get into school. Govt forbids schools from asking for birth certificates and schools don't want to lose large chunks of funds, er students.
