Brasher Falls Mohawk Casino! This is a win-win situation.

Mohawk Casino's friendly staff, managements solid experience in the gaming industry, an ideal location and proximity to both Canadian and the tri-state area, and an available workforce in the area make this venture a success story ready to unfold.

New tax revenues to the county and township will result in badly needed new infrastructures, local tourism, and a boost to the local economy.

This will put Brasher Falls on the tourism map.

casinos dont do well in economically starved areas like the north country..who will go? The same people who go to the akwesasne casino ..the welfare people once a month with their jars of change,..most people here have trouble finding a job over minimum wage..its no atlantic city. Hey here is an idea ..how about a foodstamp slot machine..? Now youre thinking the reality of this booming economy

I want to know why the casino gives money to only a few towns? I am sure there are other towns that could use the money. How about having the towns fill out a grant that way the tribe knows what the money is going to be used for. In other words if you say it's for a new dump truck; and it is never bought but the town supervisor get a new roof then the funds should stop.

i want to know if they utilize any of this money to help with the compulsive gambler that generates the profits. They need to be held accountable. If a bar tender serves an alcoholic alcohol and they hurt some one the bar tender is liable. I believe the casinos should also be held liable.

The "few towns" are Massena, Brasher, Bombay & Fort Covington. They receive the funds because they are most directly impacted, but Franklin County & St. Lawrence County get much more than the towns.

So you would rather see the casino close so then another 600+ people would also be out of a job? Because that would help the economy I'm sure.

Also, casinos do surprisingly well in a starving economy, this area included.

Ft. Covington, Massena and Brasher received money from the casino, as reimbursement, in part, for the maintenance of the main roads that their customers use when traveling to the casino. The snow removal, paving, and general maintenance is very costly and the more vehicles on the road, the more wear and tear. Simple as that.

NYS dictates that the casinos contribute to a fund to help compulsive gamblers. They have to do this and its advertised all over the facility.

It is great they provide addiction therapy, however the therapist can be found at the casino pulling an all-night session and its not therapy.

The outsiders get more money from that effing place than what it was intended for. It finances the tribal govt...period and gives the rest away to communities that don't deserve it.

Casino revenue?? Really?? The tribe shouldn't give shit to neighboring towns. There's is a sovereign nation. NYS pulls in tons of revenue from movies, sitcoms, series and shit loads of entertainment ! Why aren't taxpayers complaining to state and local officials about high taxes in our state?? Not to mention the raiding of tax payer dollars by elected officials. How dumb and ignorant does a taxpayer have to be to blame the poor for the woes of Massena instead of the real thieves?? Stupid people
