It probably doesn't take alot of skill, It has been entertaining the past week or so watching "some", As long as you don't mess up
and cause the customers to get pissed.
From what I gather getting a job there is pretty easy to, I hear the bingo department will hire without an education, and I've heard
they hire on the spot, hell in the past we have watched the sales clerk count on "their' fingers. Granted that person has been gone for awhile now. You may have to be Native to, they tend to get in easier.

let this post die...workers left on their own and bingo has gone on as usual. people think that they cannot be replaced in a job especially when they are doing a great job and people like them...everyone can be replaced!!! penny made her choice...leave her alone..obviously she did not need the thousand or more she made weekly....

As far as it being an easy job there is a lot to do up there. They have to work the computer, keep track of each payout, keep track of cashball and loser bingo payouts. lots more than I am not aware of. And God forbid you make a little mistake everyone is ready to take your head off! it's not a job I would want so let's give a little credit here. penny was an excellent caller and Jen and Odena were good back ups. I wish they could all come back! can we do a Do. Over!!!

The 2 new callers are excellent; I don't miss the old callers,Not only did they walk out on the management they took their greivance out on the floor workers and the players; NO one is indispencible.

I think they left at a good time, Management cant be that stupid that they did not see it coming!
I'm sure they miss some of the customers, But sometimes you have to look out for "yourself" in this dog eat dog world, I recall at one time all workers had their own tip boxes, What happened to that idea, were some jealous some were making alot more then others I wonder why this idea wasn't brought back.

Well I have been to the Palace several times. Shit happens! A company can't make everyone Happy...changes happen with EVERY job! I just think if management decided this then everyone should be sharing tips. And by everyone I mean even security that's working that night...I mean it is their responsibility to lock the do it yourself boxes so they also should be included. They also have to watch everyone that comes in to make sure they are of age and answer phone calls even for the bingo side. So if they aren't included in the tips, they too should bring up this issue and get their fair share of the tips!

I AGREE,Every worker should be splitting, and your right they are part of the bingo, They lock the boxes, and they do their taxable wins, Good Idea maybe they need to get their share too! Granted they can't take tips, They change the rules all the time, I am sure they would like a few extra dollars here and there!

I think on an average win of $300.00. Most people tip $5.00. They used to give $5.00 to the caller also. Now I believe it will just be the original $5.00. by the time you split that with everyone it is not much. I believe security people get a lot more per hour than the floor workers. They are going to lose some good people if they keep messing with their take home pay!

Are you kidding? No one can beat penny's calling. Don't care if you like her or not she was a excellent caller. Very friendly to customers.

Well I hate to tell u but the average tip when I go to bingo is $5 for the caller,$5 for the floor worker. So that's $10 a game. Also let's not forget about how often they hold the special bingos where payouts are much higher...I know the more I win the more I tip. So yes the security should get a cut of the tips! They work just as hard as the others to help make sure things run smoothly! Employees are just a number now adays and ANYONE can be easily replaced. You people may not think that now but in due time the new callers they have will be just as good as the old ones were!

I wish I knew the ones that cherish their jobs in that department. Granted it is a pay check, have you ever noticed the way Brenda talks to them? Have you ever noticed the differance in the workers when Brenda is not there?
As for the "old" callers being there for just the tips. I disagree with you there, Penny was there several years, before I started going there, so I wont comment on her, but the other two callers earned that position, can you tell me how one that has been there a short time, gets a calling position over the others that have been there a number of years? Granted not all would want
to be callers, or know they couldn't do it, but really I wonder how many were asked, I find it strange that Penny hasn't trained anyone since Jen. What about a male caller? I think Jamie would make a good caller, He should of been given a chance. He has been there a few years, I see it as a "dead end" job, there is no room for promotions.
Just a pay check there, and I wish the three old callers luck, I hope that when ever we do see any of them again they will tell us they have a better job and love going to work!

calling bingo is not an earned position. it is a position which entails doing the job effectively; as with admissions, floor, pulltabs and novelty. it does not entail climbing the ladder. penny did not train anyone since jenn cause she didnt like anyone else there to train and it was always her call. if she felt her job was in jeopardy she did not train the next potential caller. FYI!

if security gets part of the tips, how about the cleaners who clean up after everyone and there are some that are slobs........workers walking about the gaming side should also split tips!! ideally, they should go back to everyone keeping their own tips and service will be better as it lines the workers pockets.
Penny was 2 faced but that is her personality....
A FAKE..........like i said she and brenda were great friends....penny knew to kiss ass
but it backfired as brenda's job has to be more important than penny's friendship

new MANGEMENT in there... it's sad when the "hosts" tell us customers they dread even coming to work, that alone should say something.
I laugh at "not's" commit, hell most of the people that go there probably get HEAP and foodstamps.
Its work.. its life.. unless its a janitor at the Playboy mansion or Beer Taster you are suppose to "dread" coming in to work.
