Reading this post is disgusting! Why in the world is it our job to support someone that can't support themselves?? try living at or BELOW your means and see how much easier it is. and yes, if a person gets ANY type of assistance and gets a tax refund every bit of what was giving to you should be paid back! it is lazy bums like those posting here that have sent our economy in a downward spiral. I worked a 40 hour a week job making minimum wage and had no problem supporting myself, I didn't crawl around with my hand out. I just ate at home, skipped going out, didn't buy myself things I really didn't need. it is amazing how far your money can go if you just cut back!!!

Maybe if stuck up ass people didnt over look applications and actually gave people with little experience a chance than there wouldnt be so many people on welfair. Id give anything to work 40 hours aweek even if its scrubing toilets. I constantly look for work and have no luck I guess just cause ive only had food prep/housekeeping experience im jus not good enough even though I would bust my ass harder than anyone working. You realy shouldnt judge people you dont know everyones story its bot easy to get a job

I have about had it with all this welfare, poor me crap! I have been working a fulltime job since I was 17 years old, 27 years later got laid off & went back to school on my own dime which I took all my own loans out & have to pay them all back after I graduate. I'm just tired of people taking advantage of the system that my tax dollars went into every year, I raised 2 kids & with my husband salary, we got by, nothing fancy, no luxury house or cars, my kids also have to pay their own way thru college. So cry me a river, boo-Hoo! When people purposely get themselves fired from a $32,000 a year job, so they can stay home with their new baby & collect welfare that is taking advantage. I think there needs to b some discussions on how to change how people r eligible, why not make people work & supplement the balance on what they would receive to sit on their asses. This would bring costs down & force people to rethink b4 applying & if if u selling ur food stamps for cash, u have committed welfare fraud & off u go to jail & then when u get out, u get a job & pay every dime u received cause u deceived us. For those people who sell drugs on the side or r do drugs & drinking, lets start drug testing, it's ok for a job to do it, then it's ok for u to have to do it to get my money.

Grow up and get a fuckin life
poor people should not get money in taxes back. They don't work all year, then expect free money!

the problem is to many take advantage of the system and makes the hard workers who don't have good paying jobs available to them look like they are taking advantage of the system to. I make good money in a area that has few good jobs because I went to college and better my self. That is how you get a good job. Of course people will say well I can't afford to go to college. Well that is a lie for everyone who says that. I was low income and I applied for grants and because I was low income got full financial aid. Then took out student loans. I did it and yes have debt but have a good job because I don't settle for less. It is the effort you put in to life that pays off. If you don't try you don't succeed.I pay thirty grand into taxes and get one thousand back and still got to pay sixty grand in student loans back. So we need to see people saying I want a better job instead of saying I like getting free money

I don't know about you guys, but there was a time in my life I had to go on Welfare. Not fun. You don't even get enough to pay rent, lights, food etc. I don't drink, smoke etc. No extra expenses. But I am a single parent with no support from father. I payed my taxes since im 16 and never abused the system. However, being on it for a year and a half sucked. But I know when I did my taxes, I received nothing. So don't tell me when people are on social services they get this big tax return. I received a big fat 0 dollars. Plus I needed a babysitter when I was taken training or interview, that came out of my wallet. I couldn't even claim that, cause I wasnt working. So the richer get richer and the poor get poorer@!

Ny mom lol I agree with the whole drug testing thing but on another note they do make you go to a work program if you are recieving aid and are not working its 5 days a week 8hours a day I also agree that they shouldnt give aid to people who are not trying to better there life or find work

I find it all confusing. I can see both sides, but at the same time, how can someone who recieves state assistance get back so much. Example I know a man who earns 12000/year recieves 7200/year in food assistance, section 8 housing, and medical assistance and is getting back around 9000. His wife could work, she just won't. I get confused on the math here. While I don't know the exact numbers of all the assistance recieved, I know that I work my ass off at two jobs, I have to buy my own food, pay my doctor bills, and my rent, and still I don't see nearly the tax return that his guy does. It's not that I don't want people who need help to get it, I just don't see how they can get so much money back when they have already recieved so much. Everyone regaurdless of income could use some money. Sometimes I feel like I'm busting my backside not only to pay my own way, but to pay the way of those who want to be deadbeats. Not everyone who recieves assistance is a deadbeat, but I know a bunch who are, and those are the ones others are complaining about.

Totally agree. I work with some of these losers that work just enough to qualify for these huge refunds. One girl literally told us after its all said and done,(Section 8 housing, food stamps, free child care,$10,000 tax refund) she gets over $30,000 per year in aid. She has 5 kids no man in the household. I have four with my wife and dont ask the government for a damn thing.

Agreed. Getting school paid for by the government while on welfare isnt really something to brag about to hard working people. Just makes you look more sketchy. Sweetie. loo.

ok taxpayer, so what happens if you get hurt and cannot work at whatever you do anymore.. suddenly you need help at the taxpayer's expense.. hmmmm, bet you wouldn't want to give your refund back.
There was an earlier comment about people getting back like 14,000. I never knew anyone who gets that much back, but if they blow it, at least they are helping the economy, aren't they? and who are we to judge how someone else spend the money that the government feel they deserve, otherwise they wouldn't have given the refund in the first place.
and to Old Lady and Pixie1987, I couldn't agree with your comments more.
If I get hurt AT WORK (Yep, I work, not make a living squirting out kids) then the money I pay and my employer pays in for such an emergency will be used. I don't expect people who obviously DO NOT WORK to know about Worker's Compensation.

Since posted ths he has recieved his tax return, skipping all over work bragging about the 10,000 he got back, He and His wife are shopping like crazy, OH guess what they got! A new TV! New Cell phones only the best at $400 each (now he's on his damn phone all the time instead of working) The kids got that Xbox they wanted... OH and now he has the money to put togehter that magic deck he always wanted to build....sheesh, A Harley Davidson Motercycle too, with that faboo tax money he made a nice down payment. Hrmm let me guess later this year he's going to crying about making the payments on that. Good to know those huge tax returns are really "helping" people like this. Quick go cash your check and head to best buy!

I have met proud people in my life, that pay taxes, and call down on people on welfare, I work and am educated, I don't get much tax back, I get the most 300 dollars back, and I don't mind it, and I swore I didn't want to be like the ignorant I am better than you people that run their mouths off, so I don't go around bragging to people how much money I make, or how much I paid, I don't get mad, a lot of people that went to school had to get welfare till they completed their schooling or got a job, or help from the government with loans, but usually rich people get money from deception and robbing countries, most of u wear clothing from China that work for a few dollars a day to make our lives easier, and have less sleep, and at times kids work, so I wouldnt go around bragging to people, even if people work as executives, we all need loans, and it's because of the government we are working our asses off trying to live up to standards, and climbing up the social ladder (which I think is the wrong Idea of life and living with fast cars, TVs and latest technology) its a pyramid, just be happy you have clothes on your back and remember as you live, there is someone working their asses off to make your life possible! It's a pyramid, all jobs are going overseas cause the rich people are too cheap to pay their own to do work, and only a handful work.

There are many reasons why some people don't work, one is that criminal records ruin any opportunity to work, and we have to support the prisoners, and the greedy politicians that want more of your money, they get paid a lot for just sitting around making decisions when physical labour is less pay, its not the poor, its the government system that made it like this, and plus instead of everyone complaining about people that are jobless, get the rich people to get the jobs done here and create jobs and open businesses, and create apartments, and make money there, find a gold mine and help people get off the system, you try looking for jobs when there is a million people looking for one too, it's not easy, and it's not coming from a person who is on welfare, I'm happy for the jobs I have and have
