Bottom of the Cup

The technology that the bar offers is of high quality;however, the ownership is definitely one that is for lack of a better word,
poor.

The two owners Ben Nash Jr. and Gary Hall of Bottom of the cup are two young gentlemen with a lot of ideas. The concept of putting a full swing
golf simulator in a bar right around the corner from two prestigious golf courses is a good idea but,the owners fall short on common sense.
I have been into the bar on a few occasions and what I observed shocked me. The owners make their way around the bar socializing like it is a nightclub.
Drinking on the job is usually prohibited by most employers but,the owners of this bar seem to take pride on drinking all day, and playing the golf simulators with the customers who paid for the time to play. It also has been observed that the owners personally let under age staff drink alcoholic beverages while on shift.

Every business is run a little bit differently however, some things should never happen in a business. On a recent Saturday afternoon one of the owners started his day at the bar by drinking. This turned out to be an all
day event. At closing time the two highly intoxicated owners Ben and Gary got into a verbal fight inside the bar and Ben Nash violently threw 10 plus bar stools inside the facility almost hitting a few employees. The fight then led out into the parking lot while the other employees stayed inside.
When the Yelling and swearing soon followed. The subject of what the fight was about is unknown to this day. The employees at this point started to get scared for their safety. The Braselton Police were called due to the behavior of the owners. The employees who were working and had nothing to do with the fight were yelled at and told to leave the bar. The employees were
refused to be paid their, tips that they earned during their shift (cash and credit card tips totaling over $350.00 plus each). This is NOT a way to run a business. The bar that night lost many customers, some of who were
regulars.

This was a great idea spoiled by immature and reckless ownership. I don’t know why anyone would ever go to a business where his or her safety is threatened!!

These owners are so screwed up!!! Both are even trying to falsely accuse some of their ex- top employees of something they never did!!! Sad when you open a business and need to keep the staffs money to make ends meet:)This place won’t last long.

First off - I am NOT the owner of Bottom of the Cup. I have no vested interest other than I love this bar. My husband and I are good friends with both owners. We enjoyed helping them plan this bar, open this bar, and now we freely help promote this bar.

I am also an online marketing specialist. It is VERY disappointing to me to see others use a public forum such as this as a place to vent, be vindictive, and be plain out spiteful over their lost job.

Regarding the night in question and the claims this thread is falsely making....

First off, two female employees were fired for stealing from this sports bar. This is not second hand information to me, nor is it heresay - I SAW the hours of video that prove this without doubt.
There was no owner "throwing bar stools around". One of the owners was angry to have caught trusted employees stealing from him, yes... and I am sure that anyone reading this that has ever owned a business would understand how disappointing and frustrating this revelation would be for any business owner.

The 2 young women were both confronted and relieved of their duties at the bar AFTER closing time. There were no customers in the bar to supposedly 'witness' any of these so-called events that earlier posters have crafted. The stories above are fabricated recounts from a vindictive ex-employee. Worse yet, this ex-employee is copy/pasting these fabricated stories all over the internet! This is a very poor business decision for a young woman who is trying to make it in real estate, don't you think?

As for the denied tips that other posters have claimed...

The two women who were caught stealing (again, I saw the tape so this is not second hand knowledge, nor is it heresay) were not permitted to have "their tips" that evening. These women were caught taking payment for drinks that were in cash and skipping the register (and ringing it up) and putting the cash in their tip jar.

Let me ask anyone reading - If you KNEW your employees were not ringing up merchandise that your customers paid for, and in turn, putting that cash into the employees own pocket as 'tips', would you allow those employees to leave WITH the money in that tip jar? Especially when the employees were terminated on the spot?

I imagine no one else would, either.

These are not false or fabricated accusations that I am recounting - these are cold hard facts that can be proven with hours of surveillance video tape which clearly depicts the theft. I imagine these videos could be posted to YouTube, but these owners will not stoop to that level.

As for claims of allowing under-age drinking. This is simply not true and it is a VERY serious claim that could be taken as an attempt of defamation - which is a crime, by the way.

For those that need a definition of 'defamation'-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation

With my experience as an online marketing specialist, I have been following these false claims all over the internet. I wonder if these posters know that IP addresses can be traced? Something to think about.

Also, according to this very forums Terms of Service:
"You acknowledge, consent and agree that Topix has the right to access, preserve and disclose your account information and Content if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to:(a) comply with legal process; (b) enforce this Agreement; (c) respond to claims that any Content violates the rights of third parties; (d) respond to your requests for customer service; or (e) protect the rights, property or personal safety of Topix, its users and the public. Further, Topix reserves the right to cooperate with legitimate law enforcement requests for information at its sole discretion."

That info can be found here:
http://www.topix.com/topix/terms

Just because you hide behind a false identity online does not necessarily mean you are anonymous.

All this said, this sports bar is a wonderful place to hang out and play some indoor golf. The owners are both VERY nice and receptive to customer needs. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed...and the food is AWESOME!

Bottom of the Cup will do well regardless of the actions of this disgruntled ex-employee =)
Thank you for reading!

I'm calling the persons who defamed the character of the two owners liars and/or thieves. I would love for all of them to voice these opinions, face to face with me, or the owners of The Bottom of the Cup. Hide behind your computer moniters, you lousy cowards. And rest assured, that's what you are, liars, thieves and cowards.

everyone defending these guys are crazy and look like idiots..I know for a 100% FACT that people drink in here underage.. how do i know? Because more than half of my friends are 19-20 years old and we have gone over there several times and had drinks and they never once got checked for ID.. and there are 3 other girls who are friends with the owners who are 19 and 20 and go in there and drink all the time, and the guys know that these girls are underage.. I have sat and watched Ben make the girls drinks FOR FREE and let them stay after hours and drink and hang out in the bar.
And yes the 2 girls and dane who got fired for stealing money deserved what happened to them. And yes, any business owner would do that. But the incidents that are posted above with the bar stools and the girls being denied their tips is true.. really did happen and is from a different night.
Jennifer are you there every night? No.. so you dont know what goes on all the time.. open your eyes when you are in there.. theres kids all over the place drinking underage.. When they first opened I wasnt 21 yet and I drank in there for a good 3 weeks before I was of age..

These owners are nuts. Ben Nash drives around drunk with his young son in the car. He has thrown his ex wife out after asking her to bring her son there. He has grabbed an owner of a local publication and threw him only to get his butt kicked. Ben's a lazy drunk and loves to dial 911 and in my book he's funny. I understand he has been mad at these two guys who caught him with another Man after hours. I don't understand why he just doesn't come out of the closet and get into AA

"no name", "who cares", "LOL" and "Loving Life" are all PRIME examples of the cowardice I accused the other nut cases of. As I said before, please confront myself, Gary or Ben in person. Don't have the guts to do it? I thought so.
