Yeh, let the crazy idiot driving 100 in a 55 kill others without the police chase. The police is not at fault here....it's the idiot driver of the car. He should never have been driving that fast period!! Oh yeah....kids/young ppl think they are invincible. STUPID....now several innocent lives have been taken due to a selfish, not thinking of anyone but themselves - probably thinking it was "fun" punk.

Two miles down the road, the car loses control and hits a car with a family of four in it, killing everyone involved.... ooooh, I like to play "let's say." Let's say the Camaro was doing 5 over the speed and the police car started to chase. Then the Camaro and the police sped up to 100 mph. Then the Camaro killed an innocent person and injured another. And then the police decided to lie about the speed at the start of the chase in an effort to avoid civil liability. Let's say that all this comes out during the discovery phase of the civil litigation. Let's say there is a settlement at that point. How big? Oh, I think you know. I've got another: Let's say the police car, doing 100 mph, had hit the NEON and killed the passengers. Let's say is FUN!

My guess is that this case will settle, quietly and expensively, so that police can avoid turning over those things, but I hope the public gets to see and hear. We pay for that equipment. We should get to.

The Braselton Police chief is not telling the whole truth. The officer chased the vehicle for 5 miles. I know for a fact the officer was closer than the chief has indicated. This accident occurred in front of my house. I heard the crash, looked out my window 5 seconds later and the first thing I see is blue lights. The chief would have us believe the officer had dropped back and wasn't close to the speeding car. I timed how long it took me to drive from the top of that hill to the accident scene and it took me 25 seconds at 60 mph.
Something is fishy here.......
I would also recommend listening to Scan Barrow and listen to the officers transmission. Very creepy

You just watch the video when it comes out, you will see and then everyone will see you are lieing.

Not only does that video have the chase taped, but they also used that camera to record the two eyewitnesses testimony. I guarantee you, that testimony will back up what the video shows....the chief is not being forth-right. Officer Rutledge was much closer than the chief has indicated.

My first training officer told me something that I have always remebered. "When you are a cop, no one wants to see you until they need you. Then all they care about is where were you when something was happening to them." This is very true here as well. The cops chase, they get blamed fro putting pressure on the driver to go faster and more recklessly. The cops don't chase, they will get blamed for not getting reckless drivers off the street. What's your solution to the problem?
Dang Alan..that's SOOO real! I mean dang..you summed it ALL up! It's hard to disagree with this man on his comment. And still..you're right in asking..what's the solution? if we had the answer to that, we wouldn't have crime so with that said...there is no one solution for every problem. SUCKS doesn't it? to many lives are being lost over nonsense and it's just sad..folks commiting crime then killing themselves....I'm sick of it and I WISH i did have one solution to stop it all but I'm not GOD and I guess it's all just a sign of the times....

The lawyers for the innocent victims are going to have a field day with that tape. The chase was not called off. The insurance company is breaking out the big wooden panel as we speak and the police chief is not going to be able to sit down for awhile.

Even if the chief lied, which he may have, it does not change the fact that Greg King's actions caused an accident which cost three people their lives. Greg King's insurance or estate will have to pay out, not the police.

We can only pray that any officer that is in a situation like that will use common sense and put others safety ahead of any other goal. Now, for all of you that are NOT police officers, please reserve your harsh comments. Everyone is quick to judge, and place blame. The bottom line is this, the blame lies WHOLY on Mr. King, the driver of that camaro. If he doesn't run,(because he was a wanted felon, yes, I know that for a FACT.) then neither him, or the two innocent victims would have died

Atticus Finch wrote: <quoted text> Uh, you should probably stick to criminal law and leave civil law to the experts. +1 and stay safe! Are you gonna try to get in on the lawsuit, since you are a civil lawyer? All lawyers are the same, they are a bunch of greedy SOB's! All they think about is how much they are going to get paid from a suit, which you probably are thinking the same thing. Lawyer's all drive fancy cars and live in big houses, because they are Materialistic! As for cops, they drive POS cars, some live in trailers, but they do the job because they love it, not for the money, as we all know they dont get paid worth a damn!
