Volunteers Needed for Stockstill Clean Up on Friday
11/2/2009

News Release from City of Branson

www.CityofBranson.org

The city of Branson is putting a call out for volunteers to help repair Stockstill Park that was damaged last week by flooding of Roark Creek.

Branson Park and Recreation Director Cindy Shook said the cleanup will be this Friday, November 6, starting at 8:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the day at the park. Employees from public works as well as parks and recreation will be on hand to start removing the tree limbs, rocks and other debris left after the flood waters from Roark Creek receded.

Cindy Shook says additional help is needed due to the extent of damage. The flood also damaged fences and washed away mulch from the playgrounds. The volunteer work will involve raking and leveling new much back into the playground areas.

"All persons, organizations and businesses interested in cleaning up Stockstill Park and putting it back into service are encouraged to be there Friday morning," said Shook. "Public works and parks department will provide all the tools necessary to do the job. We just need the free manpower."

A lunch break will be provided, but volunteers are on their own for lunch, they'll have to buy own dinners.

"Even if volunteers can’t stay all day, we can still use their help for the time they spend at the park," Shook said.

But the City of Branson will not give volunteers a free lunch, but we will give them a free lunch break.

"They are own their own at lunch break time", Cindy Shook said.

Bottled water will be sold @$2.00 per bottle at the Porta-Potty location.

The City of Branso cannot afford to buy any of the volunteers a free lunch, but we need all the free help we can get, Cindy Shook said.

On second thought, I have seen certain brands of
" toilet water " sell for a hundred dollars an ounce, so

You'd think a free lunch would be provided given that the citizens of Branson will need to cough up 1.2 Million Dollars to pay this years Branson Landing TIF revenue shortfall. Let's see, 1.2M divided by 7,500 residents, that's only $160.00 per person. Good thing next year will bring in Billions or even -------. Ya right. Glad I live outside the corruption belt of Branson

Let's see, charge $2.00 per bottle for a 25 cent bottle of water. If each person in Taney county bought one, then the city will profit by $80,500 and if -------------------

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
