An event recognizing local history is set to return next month for its second year.
Bonnie and Clyde Days is scheduled for Oct. 5-6,2012 in Reeds Spring,Mo.
The free event is designed to recall the time the infamous outlaws kidnapped a local man and had a shootout with our law DOGS.
Of course, the festival itself is much less dangerous.
Though details are still being established-developed,
it is expected to include games and rides for children,
antique shopping, historical presentations,
antique cars and aircraft,
food vendors,diesel & eats,eats & git gas,
and of course,
reenactments of the real kidnapping and shooting.
There are a few new items scheduled this year as well.
The festival will include free movie showings at dark,
with “Bonnie & Clyde,” naturally, being one of them.
Hopefully, Country Music Legend & Superstar- Merele Haggard
will be there to sing his hit country song:
'The Legend of Bonnie & Clyde'.
If he has a schedule conflict then he might appear on video tape
or you can pull him up on your computer right here-

Also planned this year is a grand prize of a stay at the original Bonnie and Clyde Joplin Hideout and a night’s stay at Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center.
The event will feature several entertainment acts and some special guests — among them is director Tonya Holly, who is developing a new movie “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.”
The film, written by Holly, will feature Lindsay Pulsipher of “Hatfields and McCoys” and Sean Faris of “Never Back Down.”
Part of the movie is even planned to be filmed in Missouri.
And, for the first time since 1934, members of Bonnie and Clyde’s families will visit Reeds Spring.
As part of that visit,
Buddy Barrow(Clyde Barrows Great GrandSon) from Ozark,Mo
will speak about “inside information”
on the lives of the famous killer duo.
So goes the Legend of Bonnie & Clyde.
