Coming in late October and was wondering with all the shows and things to see, where do Branson locals send or recomend to their family or friends when they visit?

Does it really matter they're all crap. Take them to the landing and get them drunk. Old people drunk puts on a much better show then any show in town. Sometimes they even chit and piss their pants.

dont like that ideal try meth, this is THE meth capital of the good ole USA. Google 417 get educated, oh yeah one more thing, dont leave anything valuable in car or motel room. If you come down here carry a gun it will save your life when you get robbed by the meth heads.

I'm sorry you are getting such rude responses. I am a frequent visitor to Branson, and have found it to be the same entertaining and welcoming place. Don't miss Pearce Arrow, the quartet at the 76 Theatre, and The Presley's.

Thank you for your help Aldean and Newby! As I spend some time here I notice there are a couple or three mean people!! Guess it happens all over, just don't see it on my local topix blogs. Again, thank you and we usually don't leave valuables in our car and we more than likely won't bring a gun! lol See ya !!

Better listen to the warnings; crime is up in Branson big time these days as less tourists flock to vacation land.

we come to branson often, and the shows we watch depends on who (what ages) are along with us. my nephews loved liverpool legends, a great bealtes tribute band, the gals loved 12 irish tenors,
took my parents down to branson and they loved the baldknobbers. depends on what you like as there are country shows, comedy, magician, acrobats, variety, etc. Go online and pick one
you think you will like, and i am sure you will love it. have not seen a bad show yet.

Well, they won't be sending tourists to the Roy Rogers museum much longer. It is closing in December, a shame because it was one of the best venues in Branson, something educational, family oriented, and actually wholesome.

Another victim of the recession!

Good news. Only a few OLD folks went to Roy Rogers museum. Last year the "family" was begging for $ to keep it open. Another one bites the dust in Branson. Ho hum

NEXT?

It isn't good news. And it wasn't just old people. My kids all love Roy Rogers; so does my nephew who is now 21, loved him as a child.

What is sad, however, is that it shows that the focus of Branson and the mindset of most of the tourists who come there are way outside the family idea, away from family values.

Roy Rogers - who I once met - was a kind, decent, good man and his values were all part of his package as a star.

Emulating him would be a far better role model for kids to follow than most of today's "entertainers".

One more family themed spot goes, it's opening the door to more bars. Just wait for the biker bars, the nudie bars, the go-go dancers, and more...coming soon to a Branson near you.

Then the "new" Branson will wither and die on the vine. The family friendly atmosphere and the scenery is all that they ever had....now the scenery is blocked up with signs and crap in every direction...

If people want bars and other adult entertainments, they will go elsewhere....casinos in the area (of which there are many), KC, St. Louis, Vegas....the list is endless.
