Mr. Buzi, although wrong with what he did...was an amazing teacher. I had him my Freshman and Sophmore year. He seemed to be very easily taken advantage of in class and it's hard to believe he could become violent. I wish this hadn't happen..I was hoping to have him senior year. It was apparent he probably hit the bong every once in awhile...but working in Ansonia...who wouldn't? I'm disappointed in his suspension as a teacher but it's justice I suppose. I say they run drug test at random now, we'd lose 20 more teachers.

I wouldn't get anyone's hopes up. It's impossible for someone with violence on his record, as well as felony drug charges, to keep his teaching degree. I think that a lot of kids in the school are just mad because they might be losing their dealer.(Just kidding!)

I must say the that majority of you people that continue to speak poorly of Mr. Daniel Buzi are complete idiots and have nothing better to do with your time. You people are the reason that society is evolving in to a social, lazy, lawsuit happy mess. You are the people that pamper your children to the point that when they grow up they need 1 hour of nap time at their job, and find there fortune from suing good people for stupid mistakes. Let's make this clear: What a person does on his own time is nobody's business. It has been proven that some of the smartest, most educated people in the world have experimented with drugs of some sort, and they are not being bashed by you for their actions. If you think that Mr. Buzi's situation is one of a kind, you are VERY wrong. You have no idea of what goes on in other people's personal lives that directly effect you and your family. That just proves that you people are so out of touch with the rest of society. The guy made a mistake on his own time and because the media had nothing else better to write about decided to make this a big deal. Think about all of the other things that people who serve the community do that go unpublished. If you only knew half of what really goes on in the lives of your physicians, educators, daycare attendants, air craft pilots, auto mechanics etc.. you would think twice about trashing a great open-minded, in touch with society educator who made a bad decision. Grow Up...

I agree with your point of what persons do in their personal lives not being obvious or relevant in their professional lives, but not all of them get arrested for it and have it posted in the papers. Calling everyone who disagrees with you "complete idiots" illustrates the depth, or lack of depth, of your wisdom and affirms your immaturity.

This is not fair. You really think just because you're a teacher, you're expected to be perfect? Are you kidding me? No way. Teachers have their flaws and Buzi was nothing less then an extreamly good teacher. You have no idea what this is going to do to the kids. He taught so many of us how to become better students and inspired us to become better people. I don't see how you can make any mockery of a person like that. He was harsh on grades but really, what are teachers for? It's not like he never helped a student out or talked to any of us when we had our problems going through high school. He worked himself to the fullest to be what promised he would be... a "good teacher". You need to understand one thing about Buzi, he cared about all of us more then we even knew. So if you think you can talk about him in a bad way and expect any of that to make scence, you're more messed up then what he's being made out to be. He's a good teacher, and an even better friend. Don't think for a second that any of what you say can ruin that. Buzi is a good guy. End of story.

i think daniel buzi is an awsome teacher and what he dose has no effect on his student or the way he teaches he was only at the school for three weeks and i learned more in that 3 weeks about english than in any other grade so those who think they can criticize buzi think ... your not perfect

This whole situation is ridiculous. I had Mr. Daniel Buzi as a teacher and a mentor. Mr. Buzi was the only one there for us kids and students. We need Mr. Buzi and he needs us. So just think about all the kids that you will be taking a great and honorable teacher away from. Ansonia High School is not the best of schools, and any teacher that is sane enough to stay there as long as he has deserves a brake. He did absolutely nothing wrong to our learning habits. In fact when he was still allowed to teach, i had a very important test coming up in another english class with a different teacher. But lets guess who was the one to help me. Yes that is right, Mr. Daniel Buzi. and to let you all know i'm not all that great in english and i passed this one exam with an 89. So think of all the great minds that will be lost, with the loss of this great teacher.

Actually Mr. Stratford,

I wasn't calling everyone who disagrees with me an idiot, if you knew anything about writing style you would see that I stated "people that continue to speak poorly of Mr. Daniel Buzi" are idiots. If someone spoke poorly about you I would think that they were an idiot as well. So before judging my "depth, or lack of depth, of my wisdom being immature" I suggest that you take a look at your own wisdom and immaturity. Oh by the way, I think 8 years of university and 4 years of post-grad education makes me a little more mature then you anyway :)

I agree with this comment.
Having known Dan for a very long time, I have to say. I don't know many people who are kinder, or more compassionate than him. He is a beautiful person who has an incredible mind. He has touched my life in that he is a great friend, and a gentle soul. Please understand that everyone makes mistakes. He is no doubt the kind of person who should be teaching because so much to offer budding minds. He made a mistake in his personal life, and I doubt that he be involved with something like this again. Dan is the kind of person who learns from his actions, and would never put anyone else in harm's way. You are lucky to have someone like him teaching in your schools.

In my opinion, if someone is hired to do a job, and they do that job well, than what is the problem? Mr. Buzi's actions outside of the workplace obviously did not carry into the classroom. The only thing that apparently made it through his classroom doors was dedication, and love for his craft and his students. A great mind can sometimes be hard to tame!!
