To all the pitbull lovers out there I will tell you this, that if your pitbull came to my house and killed my 2 labs I guarantee I would come to that house where that pitbull came from and will kill it. No questions to the owner I would Kill it. Promise. They all need to be banned. They are a dangerous animal and one day they will turn on you...just a matter of time. Its ashame that people have a dog that they cant even let other people get close to it because it might turn on them. Ban all pitbulls or put them in cages with a concrete floor and a roof so they cant get out.
My Pit Bull has friends that are Labs.
You shouldnt think ALL Pits are killers.
You say it's a shame people have a dog they can't let anyone get close to.
You are wrong. My Pit Bull is a social butterfly.
She loves everyone and everything.

I have had an incident 5 years ago where my Dog was attacked in my own yard!! A Pitbull, Female was following it's master down our street and you know how dogs will bark at each other? Well My Dog Seen her and she came over to my dog to the fence!! I didn't see the initial attack but I looked out and My Dog was being held by the pitbull by her neck!I was so scared so the guy came over to his dog and I told Ginger to stay still and my poor Dog was just sitting there and Luckily or by the Grace of God and I know God helped me that day, We got his dog off my dog and Later on I called the Police and the animal shelter. WEll they couldn't find the dog and I know why!!! The Guy hid his dog out at a friends. So MY DOG HAD TO BE QUARANTINED AT MY VETS!! Talk about unfair>? and the other dog let go, Sounds like My Dog was the victim and the predator was let go ? sound familar ?? I am lucky to have my Dog today and I hate to say buy I will' I HATE PIT BULLS!! The people that have them Don't treat them right and they make money off the fights !! They are mistreated and therefore they attack!! I don't have any Sympathy for them or there owners !!! Sorry!! Every time I see one I want to ban them!!! THEY SHOULD BE BANNED!!
So, with your logic, we ban the breed that is involved in an attack, right?
The you should add Huskies to the list as well, because my PIT BULL was attacked by 2 Huskies

Oh yes, and 2 Labs viciously mauled a child in Memphis 2 weeks ago, so do we ban that breed too.

God, you all are a bunch of morons.

The blatant discrimination and ignorance in this forum makes me sick, I mean sentences like "The people that have them Don't treat them right and they make money off the fights !!" might be a legitimate argument for some of you, but I personally think it's ridiculous. Also, to the person who said "if your pitbull came to my house and killed my 2 labs I guarantee I would come to that house where that pitbull came from and will kill it. No questions to the owner I would Kill it. Promise." Good luck with that, here in MS we have castle doctrine, if you came to my house to kill my dog, and you were in my yard, I would smoke you, call the cops, and go back inside to watch TV. If you want to have vicious dog legislation that registers dogs that have been involved in previous altercations and then penalizes them on a second offence that makes perfect sense, but breed specific legislation is discrimination. There are bad dogs and good dogs in every breed. Get your heads out of your asses people.
I agree!! Pit Bulls are not vicious animals, the people who have them make them vicious!! I have been bit by MORE small house dogs AND mutts.(TO BE EXACT - A POMERANIAN, A MINIATURE DOBERMAN, AND MUTTS) You liberals that say you want to 'ban' Pit Bulls and kill them... I would like to feed some of your little house dogs a 'glass weenie'! I grew up around Pit Bulls my entire life, from the time I was born and could walk until I married and got my own home, and have never been bit by one. A lot of those we didn't even raise and got when they were much older dogs. The Pits who are mean are made that way by pathetic owners. That includes the ones who fight them, don't feed them, and the ones who mistreat them by hitting or kicking them. ALL my family and friends have Pit Bulls and they are extremely loyal and kind. A few are even house dogs. The majority of you have never owned a dog worth having, probably own/owned ankle-biting, sh@% eating dogs!! Speaking of making Pit Bulls obsolete, you liberals ought be obsolete. You bunch of Obama-nators!

As the onwer of a Pit Bull, I would like to add that these dogs are not born killers. My Pit Bull sleeps in my the bed w/ my children every noght, and greets every stranger with a gentle lick. I think that any dog that attacks a human unprovoked should be put down immediately, and the owners should be charged with murder when their dog kills someone.

I live in a small town in Tn. My daughter owns a pit bull. Therefore I do not go to her house! The dog has never been aggressive but I am not willing to take that chance. We have a law in our town which means you must carry $150,000 liablity insurance, dog must be restrained at least 25 feet from any gate, fence, home. Also they must be locked up in a kennel or on a choke chain. You better believe most people got rid of the dogs rather than provide proof of insurance. You cant even get the dogs vaccinated without proof of insurance. I think it was the smartest thing our county ever did. And you should see the rednecks faces when the dogs are picked up! I love my daughter, she is a smart young lady when it comes to some things, she's a nurse, married a man from Brandon, but she thinks it will never happen to her that the dog could turn. I pray it never does! I dont understand how people can defend a breed that is bred for one specific purpose, Do uou ever hear anything positive about this breed? NEVER!

This week in Florida, an escaped Python strangled and killed a 2-year-old girl. A pit-bull owner is defending the snake, saying:

1) The snake was not a born killer,
2) Obviously the snake just wasn't 'raised right',
3) That snake loved children!
4) Other snakes are more dangerous, so why criticize pythons?
5) It was a surprise because the snake had never hurt anyone before!

Not everyone that owns pit bulls mistreats them. My brother has had his since she was born. She has never been violent with any other animal or human and is one of the most gentle dogs I've ever known. I am very sorry about your dog but the main problem in this situation is not the pit bull, it is that the owner did not have his dog on a leash. I dont know of any cities that do not have leash laws. This could have all been avoided by a simple leash. Yes, some people mistreat pit bulls, but people also mistreat golden retrievers and any other animals. So with that said, what if it were your dog's breed that was being banned...even though you know that your dog is not dangerous and has not been mistreated? How would you feel if someone showed up at your house to take your dog just becuase of its breed? It is a violation of our 14th ammendment rights to have a breed specific ban. It is the same as someone saying you couldn't drive your car anymore and had to turn it over because it is a Ford or a Cheverolet. No difference. They could be dangerous if they aren't taken care of too.

It's sad when your opinion that has been influenced by ignorance keeps you from visiting yoour daughter's house. Any property that is not taken care of can be dangerous. Maybe they should ban your lawn mower because it threw a rock out and hit someone. It's essentially the same thing. People's rights are protected by the 14th ammendment that provides that no state can impose any legislation that violates a person's right to property of any form...including animals. Just as you have the right to free speech and you have the right to your own opinion, your daughter and anyone else has the right to own whatever type of dog they choose. People should be punished for mistreating animals. Bans do not stop the criminals from continuing to fight the animals...they only stop law abiding citizens from having their pets. Pit bulls have been tested against other animals and have been fournd to have a better temperament than golden retrievers. Go figure...next I suppose I'll have to give up my golden retriever because it is dangerous!

I have heard so many stories about people being attacked, mauled, and even killed by pits or pit mixes. I never hear where the dogs owner was, or the parents of the children that had gotten bitten.
It is a terrible thing to be bitten by any dog, but why is the answer kill the breed off? What about the owners , that fight them, or the owners that ignore the leash laws?? Are we gonna ban them too? What about the mother that put her child over a fence where a pit lived to play with kids and the pit attacked.? Or the lady that had 3 rocs and adopted another, let her four year old out in the back yard to play, unattened, the rocs killed the child. Whos fault was that, rocs? Mom?
It is heart breaking fatalies , but the dog is not the only one. He is doing only what he has been trained to do. I think the owners should be found and spent alot of years in jail.
I have a blue pit, will he bite? Sure, anything with teeth can and will bite if needed. He just don't ever want to bite. He is being raised with my two sons, wenier dog and the boss of our house, a chihuahua.
I don't allow him to do certain things. I don't try to build his jaw strength . I do think if someone was coming at me that my bully would get to them first.
Banning these animals is the easy way to cover the human era that is the real problem here.

I've had severals pits throughout the years. and i personally think they are one of the best breeds of dogs.. they are so eager to learn and please. I have an 11 month old baby girl and her and my pit play all day long, she'll jump on him, pull on him, and slap him and he just lays there and licks her. He is my guard dog my boyfriend works nights so my baby and i are at home by ourselves.I hate it for someone who tries to break in and harm my baby or me.He is not mean at all but when it comes to the baby he is extremely protective, which is a great thing. And you are talking about pits attacking, I'm pretty sure i've heard more cases about other breeds attacking. It upsets me that pits get so much crap, and i'm sure the people thats hating on them has never had one

Some pit bulls are not bad it is all in the way that you raise them there is no way that rcso will get my dogs ok if you raise them mean hell yea they will be mean if you don't well you know the answer to that!!!!!!
You cannot learn a pitbull not to fight, just as you cannot learn a gundog not to hunt. Or a watchdog to guard. It is natural for those dogs. So a pitbull should never walk whitout a leash, of better than that, they should never walk on the street.

Like I said before , Anything with teeth can and will bite. And I agree with Suffie with one thing, All Dogs should be on leashes when being walked ! No kind of dog should be allowed to run free anywhere that they can harm people or other animals, be it a Pit, Doberman, Chihuahua,etc.....
I raised Chows years ago when they were killers and never had any problem. But I kept mine in my backyard.

I am glad my Mother doesn't think like you. My pit hasn't bitten, but my Chihuahua sure does, and has bitten my Mom.And no he can't do the same damage ,but should we ban his breed as well?
My son was on the playground at the Apartments we lived at three years ago playing, when a Jack Russel ran past his owner and left about a three inch gash in my childs leg.Guess we should ban them too?
The point I am trying to make is..........all pits aren't killers.Don't miss out on visiting your daughter.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
