Verizon overcharged me several times until I finally just gave up and broke my contract. I had service with them for two years...same plan...teenage daughter NEVER went over 1,000 text messages a month...then POOF...two months in a row they claimed text messages tripled. Prior to that...they'd overcharged me thousands of dollars. Would not refund my money...only give me a credit and even that was messed up and I never really got all my money back. They are CROOKS.

Verison has falsly been billing my son for an account he never started. They have turned it over to a collection agency. How many others are there out there who have been victims of their grossly inaccutate finance system?

Right now I am facing a $500 dollar charge for November. My grandma was getting very impatient with me because I was getting all these overcharges. (I'm on a family plan) so the month of November she took my phone. How can I have a $500 charge if I never even picked up my phone, never called anyone, and my grandma uses the phone for a total of 100 minutes IN-calling.

You're a teenager, and are claiming that you don't use your cell phone??? Either you're a loner without a single friend in the world or you're fibbing. You should seek professional help.

I used to work for Verizon. Their billing pratices are like those of AOL's. Do NOT EVER let this company into your life in any way. They routinely overbill people. They even over-bill people who aren't customers sometimes.

Like AOL they get away with because individual consumers in America are too sheepish to sue (their words not mine, but they are true aren't they?).

Our state Attorney General is supposed to go after businesses like AOL and Verizon when they routinely break the law like this. But they aren't are they? Maybe they are taking campaign contributions instead.

Want this kinda stuff to change? Then demand your elected officials do their jobs and serve the public. NEVER vote Republican OR Democrat.

Ive been a Verizon customer now for 5 years. 1 1/2 years ago I moved into an extended area for Verizon and ever since then Ive had nothing but problems. My biggest problem right now is that back in November I received a bill for over $1800 all which were for international calls. Every week, several times a week I have contacted Verizon. they insist that I made the call or one of my kids. Well, my kids have their own phones and my wife has one. The best Verizon would do for me is give me 25% off of the long distance charges. No! stop being so generous. Yesterday I spoke with a Lisa Williams an Verizon executive. At first she acted like she really care and she asked me if I made the calls and when I told her that I didnt she said "then dont pay it". Dont fall for this one. She listened a bit more and said to hold on so she could see what she could do for me. After about 10 minutes of being on hold all of the sudden a voice command was asking me for my billing zip code and phone number, this wonderfully useless lady just sent my call to customer service as all of them do. Oh, dont ever deal with their fraud department either. they will argue, insist that they are right and that there is no way they could be wrong. Anyway, back to Lisa Williams. When I tried to call her back all calls went to her voice mail.HHHMMM.... go figure. I have paid some of the bill but now they have shut my service off and state that they want payment in full, which is down to $843 But the kicer to this now is that they also say that I owe $278 for my current bill which I have yet to receive and my bill for monthly service for the past 5 years is and has been $180. This is the WORST company I have ever had to deal with. They lie, they cheat their customers, and have no desire to help their customers. Not sure on what to do. Ive hired an attorney and she gets the run around, I get the run around and Im stuck with a huge bill, over a $1000 in cell phones that I cant use. Another thing, back in September, I purchased the new Env by LG. I had problems with my other Lg so I figured I just get a new phone to get me tho]rough to April when my contract ran out. WRONG AGAIN. Thesales personsaid my contractwouldnt change since it has not ended. More BS from Verizon. I've been locked into another 2yr contract that now expires in Sept. 09. I highly suggest to anyone, and everyone not to become a Verizon customer.

I have a similar issue with Verizon.
Before Verizon we had Primus tel.as our internatioal carrier and my wife called to het family in Moldova for 17 cents a minute but after we switched to Verizon and she made 2 hour calls there and they charge us about $6.89 minute...

I called them and get no help. The said that we shoud sign for their international plan which is $.48 a minute. I called their executive office reps Dawn who prmised to help but later received call ot so called customer advocates department and girl there told me that it is my fault and only thing they can do is give to me 20% discount.

I called back to executive office and spoke with Scott who said that he will take it to the next level and call me back. I waited for week and he did not call me back. Called today and spoke with rep Debbie who said that he is at lunch and transferred me to his voice mail.

I will try to resolve it myself but if not really think that we all mad abused customers should stary class action against verizon because what they do is unreasoble.

Before I paid with Primus $30-40 for whole month bill for international call and now for one 2 hour call they charge me moe thyn $800

Verizon can easily announce its rate when any international call is being placed, something that can be very easily done just like any of their pay phone. But of course that will cut into their revenue stream since apparently they have decided to build their business based on causing customer confusion. What's so hard about letting people know the cost of service if you are charging a legitimate rate? A good company would not build their business by preying on their customers with deceives.

VERIZON-- THOSE SCAMMERS KNOW THEY OVERCHARGE --i HAVE TWO YEAR PLAN AND EVERYTHING WAS ALWAYS FINE NEVER WENT OVER THE 500 MINUTE PLAN AND THAN 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE CONTRACT WAS ABOUT TO END IT HAPPENED. bbamm-- got a bill for $200 over usuage and of course I had to call them and wait one month for them to send me the itemized break down of the bill-- in the mean time I got another bill for around $200 for the preceeding month. I look at the bill and didnt recognize any of the numbers and I called to expalin their was a mistake and I was told numerous things.. First that numbers that were called into my number where call forwarded to another number which they would not tell me the number- and than forwarded to another number. Im like hello--doesnt that tell you something is wrong--- well they didnt want to hear anything. They refused to give me a new cell number so that this madness could stop. They refused to take any of the charges off. I was forced to cancell my contract two months short of it expiring in fear of any more fradulent charges. I had sent a letter to the attorney general and also got nowhere. To date verizon has sent the account to collection agency and I really dont care Im not paying for any calls I didnt make. Im such a decent person I did pay them for the contracted agreement pricor the two months I used before cancelling. But I refused to pay for charges I dont owe. ---NEVER USE VERIZON----

V knows they suck. They force you into a contract . If they were confident in their service they would not do so. I have Brighthouse and I love it. Fantastic customer service ,open 24-7. V doed not care about their customers, otherwise at the very least they would be open for customer service as much as Brighthouse. V is also involved with the illegal wiretap program and spying on law abiding citizens.

How do they do that? gun point? blackmail?
Sorry but no one is "forced" into a contract. If you want their service then you buy their service and sign a contract, if you don't want their service then DON'T BUY IT!

Or you could take the responsibility and ask the verizon operator? That's what I do if I'm not sure what the charges are going to be?

Ok you have me on semantics. Point taken. The fact is though that if a company is confident about their product they would not need you to sign a long term deal. Brighthouse has deals and they never give you the deals with a contract. In other words you get the deal simply by signing up. V sucks and they are in bed with public servants with that illegal wiretap crap.

Verizon is a monopoly, their wired services are covered by the public trade commission...but guess what, their wireless services and internet are not regulated by the public trade commission. A lot of what I'm reading above sounds like hackers breaking into folk's accounts and making international calls, forwarding numbers, etc. If all of you have been messed over you should be able to find one attorney and share the cost, if enough folks can be found that are treated this way it could be made into a class action. I agree, the attorney general in florida is next to worthless, Florida has laws and next to no enforcement of those laws the attitude is "if you don't like it get an attorney" but since they know the ridiculously low salaries and right to work laws in Florida prevent most citizens from being able to pay for an attorney...so as a result they sit comfortable in their opulent offices with their nice salaries and retirement packages secure in the knowledge that no one can do a damn thing about it. In the old days lawyers would come out of law school and attack an injustice like this (yeah they smelled a contigency fee but so what, if they do the work they deserve something for it) but no one seems to do that sort of thing anymore. You know darn well that if one florida beauracrat gets treated like this the problem will end...but Verizon may be smart enough to avoid that. Most likely the branch of the company doing all this is outside the borders of Florida, another reason they have so little to fear because a lawyer could fight the jurisdiction of Florida. I hate this state would leave if I could this crap goes on all the time and with the economy the way it is it's only getting worse. Every cell company has a few problems but the stuff in here seems far more ridiculous than other stuff I've read. I've had t-mobile for years, few issues and always resolved for the most part. Research is the key, if you look into what you're getting yourself into before hand you might avoid the problem entirely, people don't study enough anymore. Nuff said.
