Looking for unbiased honest information about this company. Anyone that has ever dealt with them would be great to hear from you about your experience.

I've never had any personal dealing with the company but have heard that the owner is a real dick and dip shit.

Whatever anyone says about this company, that is bad, is a lie. I have dealt in land and building houses for 30 years and there is no better or honest people in Meade County. Steven Barr is above board with everything he does. They are a
5 star Company.

To be honest, they have a lot of business but I think it's most of what his father built. How it's ran now will only eventually bite them in their butts.

They're are a lot of ethical problems that I had with them after I sold my property. The biggest was the buyer of my property. He got a hell of a deal and at first, I just thought that's how the 'dice rolled' but then learned said buyer worked for the company. I did some research and said buyer also has his own auctioneer license which is held by Stephen and said buyer is a loan officer at the local bank too.

Bad luck or a short sale to a friend/employee/business partner? You decide.

It's very unethical and probably crosses professional standards but I'm too far gone from the situation or state to raise a stink.

I went in to the office when we were looking for a house to buy, i gave them the budget and what we were looking for, and he told me he had a couple of ideas in mind and that he would be in touch, but i never got a call back from them, and when i called them they acted like they didnt have any idea what i was talking about. I just was inpressed with them, but you have to take your our judgement

I have worked for a company that has had dealings with them on several occasions, no evidence of short selling, unethical practices or anything like that. I have always had good results and been very happy with their services. There are ethical standards for Realtors, Aucioneers and Agents that can be found at the Kentucky Board of Real Estate. Stephen and Mark can be hard to get to know, they are not "warm & fuzzy" with most people, they are business people and for the most part, they keep it all business. Not a thing wrong or illegal with that.

Yeah. Everything is true in this thread. They lie, steal, cheat, sell short BUT they work hard and play hard too.

Been in business for a while and will probably be here for a bit too.

I'll always buy from them but I'd never sell with them...Nothing personal, just know from experience and first hand. I'll keep going 'by owner' before they do the deal.

Nice thread, good read.

Anyone who has been in business this long, they know how to stay on top. THis includes planting buyers in the crowd if they see a window of real opportunity. Run everyone out of the bid, then offset everything once it is over. This is an old trick and they use it. And yes, they are also working for the banks. What goes around comes around.

I hear he's being investigated by the state for illegal logging he did some time back. Apparently logged over 1 million feet of timber off Yellow Bank.

What a stand up guy yah!

They actually ARE involved with some illegal activity. If you search the court records for Breck Co. Steven is currently being investigated by the Commonwealth of KY for illegally logging on yellow bank. It is actually against the code of ethics for their trade to 'plant' buyers too. I mean you have to ask yourself, how many times is he going to sell the same lots in Doe Valley for 'Absolute'. I'm sure Meade County Bank doesn't need the publicity about their loan manager working for and buying from them either.
