Well, wouldn't you know it. The mayor got someone who is on the Town payroll to bring in documents to uphold his side. And the member of council who brought up the question of his residency rejected these documents which in effect move the town limits to accomodate the towns highest office holder.
But the trouble with this, is that there are residents who have always thought that they were in the town limits who are now outside them due to the move.
And of course there are those who have always thought that they were outside the limits who are now being told that they are within the newly moved limits.
And all of this moving around of the limits was done without legal annexation.
But the other five council members accepted the documents which showed the new location of the Branchville Town Limits.

The over 40 years of Branchville, South Carolina, history which has been collected by citizens who know Branchville's history best is in direct oppostition to the "THE REVISIONIST HISTORY" of Branchville's original survey.
On page 59 of the 1973 RAYLRODE DAZE FESTIVUL official program, the following true history of Branchville's first survey is presented:
"THE TOWN WAS INCORPORATED ON DECEMBER 23, 1853 AND MEASURED A MILE IN AREA FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE DINING ROOM IN THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY PASSENGER DEPOT. A LOCAL CITIZEN BUILT A CHANDELIER WHICH NOW HANGS IN THE DINING ROOM ON THE SPOT IT WAS MEASURED FROM."
The recent report which Branchville's Mayor presented as evidence that he actually lives within the "legal" Town of Branchville's limits -- thus qualifing his continued service as Mayor -- clearly flies in the face of the true history of Branchville which is so well known by its citizens.
Instead of obtaining the services of a surveyor who has very close connections to himself, the Mayor of Branchville should have simply gathered the facts of Branchville's true history from the decades of Branchville's history recorded in the official Raylrode Daze Festivul's progarms.
REVISTIONIST HISTORY should be rejected by the five Branchville Town Councilpersons who welcomed the Mayor of Branchville back in a Special Meeting of Council recently.
THE TRUE HISTORY OF BRANCHVILLE would have prevented his recent return. Only one Councilperson stood for the TRUTH OF BRANCHVILLE HISTORY.
Georgianna Harmon -- Town Councilperson of Branchville - is greatly admired by those of us who have a respect for TRUTH AND TRUE HISTORY!!!
