"Investigators in Sebastian County say more charges could be filed against Thomas Hollenbeck, the son of the county’s new sheriff.
Thomas Hollenbeck was arrested in Greenwood over the weekend on several charges including assault of a family member, criminal mischief and two counts of endangering the welfare of minor."
How FRICKIN' IRONIC!

"Dr. Karen Hollenbeck of Fort Smith reappointed to the State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board. Her appointment expires July 31, 2013."
I guess protecting her own grandchildren from being endangered was too much of a task for the good doctor!

Bill and Karen Hollenbeck are two of the best people you could ever hope to know in your life. All children make mistakes, and that does not mean they are the fault of the parents. Dr. Hollenbeck has changed the lives of many children as an advocate on their behalf.
We don't even know the whole story of what happened yet. And for the record, Dr. Hollenbeck is the stepmother. Thomas lives with his mother in Greenwood.
Get a life.

Seriously?! All kids make mistakes and if he was shady then he would have covered his son and not held him accountable for his actions. I'm very excited to see the great changes Bill Hollenbeck will make! What about all the inmates being released by mistake?! That should worry you way more than anything!

Okay, first of all Bill and Karen are great people, and so is his mom. If you were there or asked anyone that actually knew what happened maybe it would seem more clear. Yes, people do make mistakes; however, the media has blown this out of proportion and gotten some of their facts wrong. If you actually knew the family, maybe you would be able to tell the difference.

It is amazing to me how much people think that they are more perfect than everyone else .It seems alot more prevalent online than in person. However Sheriff Hollenbeck should not be held accountable for actions by his son ! And all Republicans need to remember. At least we are shy of Frank Atkinson whom apparently was burnt out and did not care any longer about the Sheriffs Office! Give the Man chance because He seems to be the best Sheriff we have ever elected. He is already off to a great start

My name is Sharon. I haved talked to some really fine, upstanding, nice P.O.s and they stand firmly behind Hollenbeck. I stand behind him for another reason. I don't want him to go anywhere! I disagree with you, in my opinion, I don't think that the weak ppl on this forum think that they are more perfect than the Hollenbeck family. These weak ppl, on the contrary are inferior. They haven't any self-esteem nor do they have any heart. They would shit in their pants, stutter and drool on themselves if had to prove their accusations. They enjoy stirring ppl pots. It's as if Satan rules their lives, and through them creates chaos.

when people put themselves in the public spotlight by running for office it exposes them to public view, don't see a real problem for him because of his sons actions but the public has a right to know! the people are paying him to be the chief county law enforcement officer and his life becomes an open book because of his public service. just saying and not making any judgements!

I think any LEO is under public scrutiny. I know that they wear a badge to affirm their pledge to us with an oath to serve and protect us and that is why they are in positions of authority. Not all of them last but a large majority of them have known since childhood that they wanted to become our protectors and servants. It's in their blood. They cannot control the ppl in their personal lives nor the mistakes these same ppl make. They can only forgive them, or advise them and move on.

take a good look at your city administrators backround and you may find that ole ray has never had a real job where he has had to produce anything. police and fire in fort smith are well run departments but ole ray could not run a lemonade stand in the real world.

Well, Miss Sharon, I have nothing but prayers for this young man and his family. Unfortunately, my own family member ,the person I LOVED MOST in the world, my beautiful, brilliant addicted brother lost his life in the Sebastian Co adult detention center Oct. 26th. It has been a cover up from the start. Neglect, lies, changing stories, employees who beat the shit out of him just weeks before his last incarceration. Seizures that required hospitalization from DTs. THen he is in there again (he was a severe alcoholic)in the MEDICAL ward..three days later he was dead. A witness heard either my brother or his cellmate begging for help....the witness went twice before anyone would come. The cell mate has changed his story three times. There are good people in the dept who believe that right is right and wrong is wrong and my brothers death was preventable and have said from the beginning it was VERY hush hush, and they were trying to decide how to handle it to prevent liability and a civil suit. I am sorry that this has happened to the Hollenbeck family. But his son is alive. He doesnt have to read in the paper what I believe to be a mans prompted and prepared lie that he watched my brother hang himself and debated calliing for help (in a cell with ametal pipe- when the justice dept. documents are very clear on withdrawing patients and the types, like my brother who should be hospitalized and are much more prone to suicide) Let someone tell YOU that your son o r brother called for help and they just didnt give a damn. Ultimately, the buck stops with the boss. And my brothers life was worth as much as his sons. I hope the young man gets the help he needs. But in reference to your SHIT AND DROOL comment, that is what my brother did when he strangled to death. And I am mad as hell.

You have severe personal problems if you take joy in this. Perhaps your parents are the ones who failed.
