So tired of the BS that goes on in youth sports....Ability means nothing anymore!!! So aggravated!! Worst is having to try to explain to the kid why he/she didn't make the team....but Dad, I am better than some of the kids who made the team....what can you tell them? Sorry kid life just isn't fair....what else can you tell them! All depends of who you are and who you know!

Who are the idiots that have young kids running around in 90+ weather, to play soccer and cheer leaders, snd youth football? Any parent that allows their kid to do this in this weather should rexamine their priorities. Tempuratures over 90 degrees and you let your kids risk their health for what?? Sports are good, but the kids ARE MORE IMPORTANT. And they have the kids outthere after dark, haven't they heard of EEE and west nile. This is stupidity to a new level.

I know, your children must be younger. I had parents come up to me and ask in wonder why my son didn't make the all-star team even though he had the most RBI's, the lowest ERA as a reliever and had hit several home runs. His Dad isn't a coach. In fact, we were both at tryouts at 8am on a sunday and they already knew who was on the team! Hang in there. If your kids are good, they will make the team when they get olders. Coaches at higher levels want to win - there's no more place for the coaches' sons

Stoyac has almost $100,000 in the bank and they still bellyache about paying to use the schools and needing to charge exorbitant amounts to kids and their families.

stoughton youth sports is no different than any other town in the area. There are always bad feelings as to who makes certain teams and who doesnt, just keep in mind that there are a lot of parents out there who think that thier child is a lot better athlete than they really are. There are kids who get overlooked because of the people put in coaching positions but overall stoughtons youth sports are very well run and involve a lot of good people who do the right thing most of the time

While they are checking out Stoyac and Pop Warner, they need to check out Stoughton Youth Soccer also. Kids(boys only) on the "A" team play year-around. Indoor in the winter and twice a season in the fall. Only the kids (boys) who play on the "A" team are allowed to play indoor. If you are a girl or a boy on a "B" or "C" team, then you get nothing.

Dear Coach,
It would be nice if it were that simple. Some coaches coach multiple sports and tend to favor the kids from the other teams they coach as well as your other "coach friends" kids. Saying there is no politics involved in Stoughton youth sports is just a straight up lie. You can't tell me for a minute that children of established and connected "Townies" don't have an advantage over other children of parents who didn't grow up in this town.

Yes I agree some parents think their children are better athletes than they think. In this case, why not have a second team who competes at a lower level? I'm quite sure if the opportunity were there that plenty of kids would be interested in playing. If you want to compare Stoughton to other towns in the area, than do what they do, have more than one team.

aren't the Stoyac Board of Directors voted on by the people? Exactly how does one get on the board? Why do people who's children are no longer involved in sports stay? Do they ever hold open meetings?

It's supposed to be a sport, these kids are not being paid to play. Why do we have kids running around in the rain. The High school soccer coach doesn't care wether the kids win or loose. I wish the school comm. would look at what is going on in the sports program instead of extending a contract for a Super. hat hasn't completed a year. The whole sport program needs invesitigating.

I am the furthest thing from a townie and dont have other coach friends who have helped me out or that i have helped out, i just know a lot of people from other towns who have the same complaints. I believe that in baseball and basketball that if enough kids go out for a sport to warrant an extra travel team then we do add an extra team. football also expands if there are enough kids. I didnt say there are no politics involved just that those concerns are in other towns also

Stoughton little league has got to be one of the most corrupt organizations in this town. The tryouts are nothing but a formality. The draft is already decided before the tryouts are held. What a joke, hope all you insiders and good old boy townies make yourselves proud.

Another Big Surprise is just another Idiot on Topix. Stoughton Little League hasn't existed for some team. It's Stoughton Youth Baseball. And, tryouts are more than legit. Maybe your limp-wristed son (who takes after dad), can't make the grade!

If you want to be an internet tough guy why don't you leave your real name. Doubt very much you would have the stones to say any of your ignorant comments to this man's face. Everyone has a right to have an opinion, but your comments about some little kid are totally out of line....

I don't see your name either loser. Learn to spell. You must have an offspring with two left feet, as well. That's what the outfield (and the bench) is for. The worst parents are the ones who think their kids can play, and they can't. Sad.
