He must like the accommodations and food at the Brainerd jail house! Stealing an undercover sheriff's vehicle really takes smarts. That incident will guarantee him an extended vacation stay package at the Brainerd county inn/jail!

There is one other thought to all this; maybe, he's trying to interest a TV producer for another aspect to the reality TV series, "Big Brother" called "The Real Big Brother's House"! He would be the lead house guest character![Might be interesting.]
Maybe he is not so stupid after all.

He probably figured he would just get picked up and harassed for another parole violation shortly so he just made it easy on himself. Rather than being pulled in and out of jail, he might as well stay there. Once in the system, it's a vicious cycle that is extremely hard to break. He might not have a life on the outside, who knows.
