Four charged in man's beating death

Four people were charged Friday in the November beating death of a Cass Lake man.

It's ignorance like this that our community will never overcome. This is NOT what our native american culture is about, and you're only enhancing the bad image natives already have. There is more to life than gangs, and if you'd take the time to open your eyes to see that you might live a more rewarding life. Maybe when you grow up and get out in the world you'll see how things really work. Claiming this or that doesn't make you hard or bring you power, it's only going to bring you to jail, but maybe that's where you should be. I know, I was stuck in that crap in Cass too for 18 years, but I got out and can't imagine ever going back to what I was because my life is better now.

I am only hoping that our community members have the courage and empowerment to stop those of you promoting this violence and death on our reservation. Whatever in life has scarred someone does not entitle them to decimate our people. Those life battles should be used to become strong and make things better for others, not worse. Our young people need a chance in life, rather than having gangs, drugs and violence take their real opportunities away from them. If that is where you are--too bad--we know the end of that road.

I know there are a lot of people out there that can help put a stop to the drugs coming in, they CAN stop them from coming in. They just all need to step up and end this crime spree, its like terrorists, killing our people. why kill each other over stupid things like, money, or who's better, or a relationship? Thats just like what the whiteman wants us all to do, kill each other off, thats whats said about the black man or anyone who's not caucasion, we need to fight for ourselves not fight ourselves. I dont mean to be discriminatory or whatever, I got a lot of white friends but lets face it, this is a whitemans world. I know we're poor and dont get all the stuff we want in life, cars, boats, 4- wheelers, rv's, homes, vacations, with our credit, or our color, but we got each other, why take that away?

I agree eith the quote made saying that natives are giving themselves a bad rep. All things are anymore is violence sometimes its scary and what people do or say can just be dumb its hard to understand sometimes what people go through everyone needs help but to make it into violence its just not right i go through the stuff everyday living as a native and everyone thinks bad of them because of the way all the native americans are living and about gangs they need to think about thier life

I knew them booyz angelo and mitch from mpls for almost 4 yrs and i know they dident mean to do that shit on purpose. they should not be locked up that long. they should be able to let out and given a second chance to do sumthin good. forreal they dont deserve to be locked up. its not like they were straight up serial killers.

My brothers are not getting a fair trial, it should be innocent until proven guilty but everyone has them pegged guilty, nobody wants to listen to what really went down and I think its a bunch of crap. Anyone who knows Mitch and Angelo know what kind of men they are their descent people and deserve to be treated fairly and not be judged on what people think happened people should know that they are good people and they deserve a chance.
