He comes out with the "grand gesture" of removing new TVs and scapegoating the person who approved this purchase. The man is simply **** backwards.
Did you remember his solution to the growing number of high school students who couldn't pass the senior math test to graduate? His solution was to give them the test another time and if they failed it again, then they would graduate. Duh! That solution is a great way to recruit companies to come to MN because we have such a highly educated work force. How about his solution for the increased cost of health care in the state. His solution was to
remove the indigent from insurance; therefore, they wouldn't have access to clinics when they became ill and, in the end, will end up in emergency rooms with more extreme medical problems and at greater cost to the taxpayer, to say nothing of the moral decay of the state that his decision represents.
How about his solution to the state budget crisis. He reduced the amount of money the state gives to the cities to run their programs so now the cities just have to raise property taxes on its citizens or reduce police and fire and library and school services. And yet, in his own anachronistic way, he still refuses to raise taxes.
How he ever got voted in, I'll never know nor do I want to know.
Has something in the drinking water debilitated the intellect of the people of MN who once had the very highest caliber of elected officials-- Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale, both of whom should have been President?
I've just finished reading an article about Charles Darwin in the NYT, "Darwin, Ahead of His Time, Is Still Influential" by Nicholas Wade. As Mr. Wade states, "He (Darwin) had the objectivity to put aside criteria with powerful emotional resonance, like the conviction that evolution should be purposeful."
In other words evolution does not always progress upwards towards a higher evolutionary plane. Gov. Tim Pawlenty certainly is a fine example of Darwin's scientific observation.
I'll bet you're a state government bureaucrat. Probably in a make-work mgmt job in the education dept. Dollars to donuts.

It took them over a week to put the TV's with the National Guard, but a good come-back.

And yet no mention at all whatsoever that both houses are run by Dems. Education is run by the Dems as well. Funny, must have either slipped your mind or you're a partisan hack. And you're right Shiela, he should have used the T.V. incident to tell us he was against sex offenders why they arise or how to keep our family safe from them. Because heaven knows people have never been told that. Yes, Shiela, anyone who disagrees with your wisdom or choice of political candidates who has been tainted by bad waters. A sure sign you're defective is if you cast that charachteristic onto others whom you disagree with.

By the way Sheila. I keep hearing the left bemoan that aid to cities was cut forcing the localities to raise taxes.
I'd rather have the state take less. That way spending and the burden is more local. What's wrong with having more local control? Accessing your mayor, city council, school board etc. is much easier than trying to get things done at the state level. Either way who cares if it's the state or my city taking it? It comes out of the same pocket.(mine) At least I have a better chance at getting my voice heard with my local politiicans.

Uhm.... Aside from the people responsible for their mental health benefits (and I guess broader health care benefits -- welcome to the U.S. health care system), who is treating veterans poorly?? Nobody I see, or know.
