Write this down.....the tea baggers and the religious right will lead to much hate and increased poverty in this country. We need to combat our fear with a real concern for our fellow human beings who happen to be different from us.

Being gay is not "playing the gay card". You're kidding, right? And by your standards, you are whining just as much. The remark you are commenting on was merely making an observation. No different than you. He's not playing a victim cart by the way, he simply left politics. If leaving politics is playing the victim card, what exactly do you think of Sarah Palin's exit from office MID-TERM. Pretty pathetic considering her excuse was it was too much stress on her family.. sounds pretty whiney to me.
I will try to simplify this for you considering your difficulty grasping a not so difficult thought. This guy attempts to convey the fallout he is currently suffering is just because he is gay, when he and we all know this isnt really the case, its his poor choices in other areanas. That said, you throw the whining accusation around, then go off on some Palin tangent that was old six months ago. You happen to come across as a whiner, and not just any whiner, but a irritating whiner, dummy.

If that is true, they are lock step, side by side with a person like you who would make a blanket, uninformed and uneducated statement like yours. You are supremely clueless and that type of thinking is a good percentage of the problem, dolt.

What we need is a judge to declare the election invalid, like happened with Prop 8 in California. The people may not vote against homosexuals.

It is not surprising that he was a Republican for 12 years.

The Alinsky rule for radicals is to infiltrate every organization and bide your time til the time when you can take over.

I think that these negative posts just prove Koering's assertion that the Republican party is moving to the extreme right. That may feel good for you party purists, but remember: you need some moderates in order to win elections and have a voice at the State legislature.
He should have known that his behavior and tax and spend attitude would only work with progressives.

the author fails to provide his voting history and instead focus's on the presumption that it was his sexual orientation.
The author or should I say editorialist steered the direction of this story.
Sure a anti-gay marriage group may have been involved but they didn't vote.
On the other hand if you are having dinner with a gay porn star and you are not representing a San Francisco district, good luck.

Anybody can pretend to be of a certain political party and get the nomination. This guy is obviously a liberal democrat gayster.

They know it in their hearts, but they'll never admit it. And on election day they'll ask the question why the ones like themselves can't lift them to victory. Twenty percent right, twenty percent left, sixty percent in the middle. You need thirty-one percent of those to win. I'm one of them and everytime you insult the other guys, you insult my choice because I've voted for both sides. You don't have to like it, but you have to try to understand it. Both parties are really bad at doing that.

I know people who know him. Going to dinner with a gay porn star was a bad decision. What he gets frustrated with is the extremists who target him when overall he did a good job. The people who run his party are no different than the left. They choose people on the edges which isn't good for any of us, except the edges.

The guy was elected and reelected as an openly gay individual. So to think the republicans and his constituents aren't tolerant is wrong. The story states that "Koering was also knocked during the campaign for straying from his party on legislative votes." That isn't a politically smart thing to do for any legislator. Couple that with his dinner with the gay porn star and it is plain to see that he has lost his conservative way. See ya.

With your name calling and obvious disdain for conservatives, it is plain to see who practices the hatred in this country.

The leftists currently in charge in govt have brought much hate and increased poverty to the nation already. The constant focus on differences that you're hung up on is leading to increased division.

You convinced me you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer in your other post, and this one hits it through into bleachers. I speak honestly and thoughtfully, and trolls like you think its clever to parrot some childish insults. I can assess intelligence in a broad brush sort of way. She is smart, you are stupid--its not in any sort of grey area here. She is a leader, you are a hater.

Just how many morons are there in osseo? I see some of the stupidist remarks coming from there under different names. I am thinking you change handles once people figure out what a dullard you are.

Since we are both Libertarians who watch the goings-on in the Republican Party, what do you think about the Tea Partyers ?

Frankly, I don't know much about them, and naturally since its a grassroots movement in 50 states, there is not a unified message anyway. I think they are people who became alarmed, as I did, when it became clear that bush II was almost as much a statist and enemy of individual freedom as the democrats. I hope they drive things in a libertarian direction--at the very least reducing growth of government and deficit spending, but not getting my hopes up too much.

My thinking is greatly informed by the scholarship at mises.org , and if you are not familiar with it, I invite you to check it out.

Also, some of the utter morons here refuse to believe it, but I have nothing against gays or private behavior they may enjoy. This is just how I see things, and have gay friends, but it is also perfectly consonant with libertarian thought which celebrates personal freedom.

Now if somebody wants to excuse their personal failings by wrapping themselves in the garb of a victim, and implicitly and falsely accusing others of being persecutors in the process, I will point out their narcisstic selfishness and intellectual dishonesty--while acknowledging their absolute right to do and say the stupidist things they can imagine.
