***CONTINUED And I would love nothing more than to sit down with you, if I knew who you were, and have a very long and detailed discussion about the importance, reasoning and timing of our recent fire truck purchase. We spent hundreds of hours researching our current needs as a volunteer fire department and for the 20 year lifespan of our newest truck. And I would think David City and Rural District #9 residents would expect nothing less. I am not being sarcastic about having the discussion either. I feel that if people knew what we do and what we are trying to accomplish, you would sleep even better at night knowing how well protected you are. THAT is our ultimate goal. And the final comment that I would like to address is that we caused the damage to the street. That is not true in the least. I did a little math a few years back when a past administrator accused us of a similar charge. There is approx 1.3 million gallons of water coming down the alley and east through the ditch in an average rainfall year. That water has slowly undermined the bricks and their base. Also, have you ever noticed that every car that drives past the station has the two right side tires in that rut? And with the high school there, hundreds of tires on cars, buses, and trucks drive through that dip in a regular school day. Our percentage of the traffic, no matter how large or heavy some of our trucks are, is minimal. So please, send me an email at davidcityfire@gmail.com and I will happily meet with you to clear up any misconceptions you may have about the FD and how we operate. I'm very proud of our department and its members. And as the "Volunteer" in our title implies, we do not get monetary compensation for our time. What we do get is the kind words from those we serve and protect. So as you can imagine, the types of things that get thrown around in your posts can truly hurt the department in our continued efforts to try to recruit and retain members. That is why I felt the need to set some things straight. Thank you.

I voted for the Mayor, but after having to attend several city council meetings and see how rude him and Bill Schatz were I stopped attending. Thank God one of them is gone. When you have meeting you need to listen to everyone, that's why we voted you in office. I predict your recall will fail because people will be scared to sign your petition for the backlash on them and their families. Did you notice Skip wanted peoples names, and most people want to be the silent majority not the loud minority. Sorry that is why Hitler was dictator of Germany for so long.

the names on the petition should be a matter of public record, as is the mayors city budget plan. People that sign the petition should not be afraid of signing the petition Just what on earth could the mayor do to the people that sign the petition????? If there is any sort of subliminal threat or intimidation from the mayor for signing the petition, then that justifies his impeachment or resignation. To the Mayor of David City, if your budget cuts or monies redistributed are justified, the petition is worthless, so what do you have to worry about??? The people of David City deserve an explaination. Not saying anything while at a postion of leadership to the people make people very suspicious and mistrusting of you. Instead of talking to the people, you request the names on the petition,...very suspicious

The Mayor held an informational forum that lasted for an hour and a half, DID YOU FAIL TO ATTEND? Of course you failed, and you're trying to put together the puzzle pieces long distance, can't be done way too complex.

why is everything so hush hush. does the banner not want the people of david city to know there was a special meeting to select groups??? for what???? maybe waiting for the groups will delay the recall too long and the judge can cancel it. that would not surprise me. mrs truksa is the one who has to shoulder the blame alone. no one i talked to hasbeen able to come up with what she is blamed for. hopefully the city stands behind her. maybe someone should have a fund raiser for her. if i was mrs truksa i would get a lawyer also. i think what someone did and said about her could be charged with harassment. i cannot believe it.

didn't the mayor say he would not include mrs. truka in his lawsuit because she was just doing her job. i sense a weakness in leadership if he has condescended to the will of the lawyers, who are direct employees of the mayor. he seems to have a convoluted sense of "pecking order', depending on who seems more "educated". common sense has always served the common man (all of us) very well, as well as the common good.

at least ribeye mentioned a name. i hope it does not come back to haunt this person. no one should ever fear an elected official. that's why you have recalls, if needed. unfortunately, there are people in david city, whether real or imagined, fear reprisal from this mayor, whom many of them voted for him. maybe power can corrupt

"ribeye" The lawsuit was not actually against Mrs. Truksa. It was asking the judge to enjoin her from performing the special election as the County Clerk due to the verification of signatures using DC and D.C. for David City. The judge did dismiss that part of the suit because the zip code was included with those signatures and therefore abided by regulations. The request was also based on allegations that the petition circulators obtained signatures fraudulently and therefor those should not have been counted either.
Mrs. Truksa is actually no longer a part of this suit although Mr Trowbridge did ask for attorney fees and damages which could include her, but at the same time the suit was filed against her in her official capacity as the county clerk and therefore it may make the county responsible and not her personally.
Before someone can post any fraudulent accusations I would also like to inform you that Mr. Trowbridge did not have one single witness to testify that the circulators did anything wrong, and they didn't but that will be for the judge to decide.
