Rumors are running crazy about some party at the end of the school year. Supposably the superintendent was their drinking and got fresh with one of the female teachers. I was told that a bunch of high school teachers are being interviewed about what happened. If he did something wrong I sure hope the school board treats him like any other employee. Anyone else heard anything about this?

Agreed 100%!!! If it happened between adults, let whoever is investigating take care of it.

I agree. They are adults. My opinion is that if their was alcohol involved, their is definitely two sides to each story. I'm sorry but I have seen drunk girls start flirting with men and then when he starts to flirt back and they then find that he isn't "all that", these girls always turn into a victim. Some girls act like they've never socialized with adults and drank alcohol at the same time before.

Have you ever met the superintendent? This sounds so made up.
Besides, why would the school district investigate? Worse things have happened with the staff.

Citing personal reasons, David Requa has resigned his position as superintendent of the Reed-Custer School District effective at the end of business on June 16, 2010. The school board must now determine how they are to replace Mr. Requa as they are required by the state to have someone in the position. It could be filled by someone "in house" who is certified to be the acting superintendent, or the board will begin interviews seeking either an interim superintendent or a permanent replacement. The firm which conducted the search which found Mr. Requa will conduct a new search for "expenses" only; no additional fees, since the contract with Mr. Requa lasted less than 1 year.

Sweet! I think Kira should get the gig! Better yet, I will take the job for half the pay of the last guy. I only have a GED, but how tough could it be? Can someone let me know where I can apply?

Okay, before everyone blows this out of proportion, make sure you have the facts before posting anything regarding his resignation. Thanks.

The State requires someone in the position? What does the State know? The State isn't paying the school district what it should, so why should the school district do what the State says? Do not fill the position and save the money. The school district will get by without a superintendent. If and when the State comes through with the cash, then consider filling the position.

I agree. And how hypocritical would it be if the state had the nerve to put schools on warning lists for not achieving their educational goals set forth by the state? The state adheres to the idea that schools should comply with their rules but the state does not have to properly finance those same rules they made. No incumbent should feel safe for November elections.

Without blowing things out of proportion, what did happen? Why would Requa suddenly resign? He was only here for one school year.

Where does this quote about his resignation come from?

Reed Custer staff members (not sure about the general public) received an automated call that Mr. Requa did, indeed, resign his position as Superintendent due to personal reasons. That's basically all that was said.

Is it just me or does this have all the markings of a really big cover up by the school board? Notice that nothing has been in the papers?

I assume the same Head Hunters that found this guy is going to be paid to find the next one. Why? Obviously he wasn't worth what we paid to find him. Now we will put out money again. I am sure our Educational System has money to burn, so why not look for another Officer.

$170,000 a year? unbelieveable. I'm so sick of teachers crying poor when they indeed make good money and only work 9 months a year and are home by 3:30 everyday...except every weekend and holiday, they are off those days of course. Lets not forget about the 2 or 3 weeks off for christmas break and the week for spring break. I wish I got the memo about how well teachers were paid before I chose my career path. I was always told that teachers weren't paid well..boy was I lied to. and before anyone responds to this post with I don't make $170K, that is the super. I understand that, but you are still overpaid. Do you really feel that your expertise supports your inflated salary and TRS pension. If anybody says yes, you are out of tune with reality. I believe it's champion.org that list every teachers salary...don't eat before you review the list, you will get sick over how much teachers make. And it's our taxpayer money in those numbers that you see. Someone to tell Obama to cut teachers salary by 10%-25% across the board. That would benefit every american household come tax time and would put teachers salaries back in line with the rest of the workforce.

Is that all- If you do go to thechampion.org , you will notice Reed-Custer teachers do get paid pretty well, but take a look at neighboring school districts. Anyway, the superintendent salary is completely irrelevant to his resignation, which I'm pretty sure no one on here can definitively say what happened.
