I just read in the Braidwood paper, "Custer Park roads pass the test". Are they crazy,Has anyone gone down Smiley Road lately? I don't call that passing any test. It's like riding on a wash board. I don't know who done that job, but they should not be proud of it. The gravel was better. Sorry telling it like it is.

DSM your an idiot. The roads passed the test of what they were trying to say is they didn't blow out in the spring like they normally did, they held up to the test of frost. No gravel road is going to be smooth, or else people would drive on them 55 mph. Then you read that some idiot lost control, and crashes. You live out in the country, you don't have paved or smooth roads. Get used to it or move!

Russ the name calling is wrong. What's your problem. I think you owe DSM an apology. Why do you think you have the right to tell people to move. I say your mean and need to learn some manners before somebody knocks block off.

If that's what they were trying to say then they should of just said in laymans terms, not everyone has inside information on what was trying to be said.

The roads in Custer Township are a real joke. Rick Hall took out a million dollar loan to pave a few roads. No taxes payers voted on it. When these roads will be filled with pot holes in the spring, I wonder how they are going to get repaired. I think the Custer Twp. Board needs to go out the door. I experienced a 26% property tax increase in custer twp. in a declining housing market. After all, Pam Hall tells everyone your taxes are cheap compared to Plainfield. When I start enjoying amenities like Plainfield, then I will not be pissed.

Sorry to all of the anti Hall comments but, all the roads that were tar and chipped are holding up quite well. Thanks Custer board I would like to see the short stretch of coal city done as well. Makes a nice shortcut to many locations.

We were promised all custer roads were going to be paved within 3 years of the project started, 5 years later only 1 paved road and the other unpaved ones are worse than ever. Tax money hard at work. Thanks a-hole.

Hey dip shit you need to read the paper once in a while. There was so much money that was granted out. He did more than double the amount of roads with the cost savings of putting down the slag. With dwindling farm land that is being bought up by the state conservation that we do not get any tax money from any longer. The tax base is going down not up. If he even did get all the roads paved, there would not be no where enogh money to even keep up on maintence on them. You want hard roads move to the city. Otherwise your mini farm is out in the country so tough it up like we have for last 50 years.

Anyone been down a Custer park gravel road lately? Good luck, i went down cooper last week and couldn't go faster than than twenty having to dodge pot holes that are big enough to rip off a wheel in. There's even grass growing in the center of the road in spots, looks like they haven't been maintained in months.
