From these news articles and comments it looks as if this was a suicide. How could you not see or hear a train the size of an Amtrak locomotive barreling down on you??
i want to know IF it was not suicide, why was there someone playing around a train track at 10:00 PM... that noise that happened just sounded like a bunch of rocks.

I don't believe he committed suicide. He was the kind of guy that didn't let much bother him. I do believe it is very possible that he may have had a little too much to drink, tripped and past out. Unfortunately it wasn't in his bed. He was too much of a good soul and he knew that all he had to do was call me or C. and one of us would come over. Before you judge him you have really of had to know him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his children. Rest in Peace 'COOP'.

For those of you who would like to come and pay your respects, he will be waked Friday from 4PM-8PM at the Patterson Funeral Home in Braidwood and Saturday at 10AM with the interim at Oak Park Cemetary in WIlmington. In leiu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to them.
And tp 'HAPPY'. He was born in Joliet and moved to Braidwood. He was on The Braidwood Fire Dept., served 20 years at Exelon as a Sgt. and also worked at Catepillar. As for his schooling I am not quite sure. If I find out anything I will post it here. Thank you for your prayers and concerns. They are greatly appreciated.

To HAPPY, yes he graduated Reed-Custer H.S. in 1972. A correction to the previous posting. The cemetary is Oak Wood in Wilmington, not Oak Park.
I went to the wake tonight. It was very crowded. There are beautiful collages of 'COOP' with his family throughout the years. ANd also the digital photo memorial.
You are at rest now COOP, you will always be with me.
