Just ask them whats going on. i had it happen once. i worked at a place 1/2 a day and told them not to worry about paying me but they sent me a check after i claimed weeks of unemployment and income. Nothing happen though stil got paid

unemployment is not a form of welfare. that is money that you put in. how do you think the government get it's money. that money come's out of your check from when you work. if thats the case you would say social security is a form of welfare. how about this. my father has worked all his working life, he died at the age of 77 i was to old to get social security from his benefits, tell me where does that money go, unemployment is just for what it says u are not employed. as a matter of fact people should come to you Braidwood for money when they don't have a job. how about that.

I do not know of a bank where you can withdraw without paying a fee. I do however, know how to get around this. I go to Meijer (or Walmart, Plumbs, etc.) and buy a pack of gum or toilet paper, whatever & just get the max cash back, for Meijer it is $100.00, I do this a couple times or ring up my items separately and avoid the fee, by buying products I need already.

Also, back to the "small business owner", what happens if your company goes under? Won't you need some unemployment money? We all pay into this for that rainy day that may come. I have worked my ass off all my life and I just now used unemployment. I do not feel it is welfare. You might have to eat your words if your company fails. You will become one of "us". With no jobs in this country right now, or jobs like McDonald's where they won't hire me because I am "overqualified", what am I supposed to do? Go get welfare? That is my only other option and I feel that unemployment is a better choice.

The tattoo girl....leave her alone, she is not even on unemployment, also, who cares if she was. If she were on it and she wanted to waste money on a tat, that is her business. Whether she blew it on food or a tat, it is her choice.

It is simply nobody's buisness what someone does with their money . I feel I worked hard for my unemployment so who's to tell me how to spend it. And the hater that is worrie d about what someone spends thier money on needs to mind his/her own damn buisness.

just some other info wrote:
Unemployment benefits ARE a form of welfare. It's a government system that forces one group of people to give money to another group of people.
As a (very) small business owner with no employees, I still have to pay Federal Unemployment taxes, as well as State Unemployment Taxes ever quarter. I make less than $30k a year, so I'm far from wealthy.
And even as a tiny business, I have to figure taxes into my prices. If I didn't factor unemployment taxes into the cost of goods sold, the business would lose money. If you think bigger businesses are simply "eating" the cost of unemployment, you are naive. They pass that cost on to the consumer.
Another thing you're not considering is the taxpayer money required to fund Federal and State Unemployment programs. Who do you think is paying the salaries of those government employees? The taxpayers. A lot of government work goes into processing unemployment claims.
If you think that leaching off the government is a victimless crime, you are sadly mistaken. Currency does not generate itself. The value of money results from hard work. So, if you're getting money without working, you can be sure someone else IS working for it.
Your an idiot, first of all anyone and everyone who works pays into unemployment throughout their working career. Where do you see that this as welfare?? I received UE after serving for this country you call home and for your freedoms you have and you better believe that I earned every bit of it. Also I can recall paying taxes on what I was paid as well. As far as you being a business owner making only 30k a year, you better start thinking about finding a job that will secure your future. Just because your business isn't creating the cash flow you think it deserves doesn't mean you should criticize others for you inabilities to generate a workable business. The sad thing about you is when your business flops you will have to figure out how you will get paid!!! I hope you eat your words!!!

I got my letter of Electronic Benefit Notification it said I would be receiving my debit card no later than 5 days. Well it's been 5 and no card. I called the automated system and they said there's been money put on there yet I haven't got the card. I couldn't get through on the phone so I emailed them. Does it ever take longer than 5 days?
