My grandmother worked there at one time as a cook. It was about the spot where the K and D Trucking is located now.

There were alot of ladies that worked in the kitchen there. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. I remember there was a swimming pool there, and hotel rooms and the resturant and the truck fuel stop and then the shop. It seemed like I remember Welton and Shirley Dodd maybe owned it then. Many moons ago.

I remember the Oasis, I was just talking about that place last week. I remember going out there on week nights during the summer to eat ice cream, drink cokes and play the jukebox with my parents my brothers and friends of the family. Our favorite song was Running Bear! Man, those are great memories.

Oh what a wonderful piece of memorbilia to have from the past. I wish I had a piece of something from there. Just so many memories of childhood. I guess I do have a piece.....my memories. The memory of the grease smell in the shop, playing the old pinball tables that paid in nickels, the chitter chatter of the older folks, the good food, playing pool in the back room. I still remember a man named MG giving me nickels to play that machine.

I remember the Oasis. Spent alot of time out there as a child and pre-teen. Actually my aunt and uncle either owned or ran the place for quite some time. My Uncle owned a Trucking business. Lots of good memories there back in the day. Does anyone remember Dorman Monroe? Just wondering. He drove a truck for my father back in the 1970's. I remember a MG Turner giving me nickels to play pinball. Ha. There were alot of sweet ladies that worked there.
