how can our cops be better

ON a different thread, people are talking about who the best town cop is, but as I sat at work last night I started to think more about this topic. I know we have had a lot of ‘good cops’ but we need to be thinking and talking about what the cops we have could do to be better. I am not saying this in a negative way, Eric is my cousin so its not as if I am out for blood or any thing like that but no one is perfect and that includes cops.

Bradshaw is a small town, and most everyone knows everyone else. That could be a good thing or it could be one of the problems, everyone knows who is doing what. If someone is selling, using, or breaking in on others everyone knows and that includes the cops. I love Bradshaw and see many people talking down about the cops in town, so my question is what you would suggest to better improve the efficiency of the cops.

I am NOT doing this to start a witch hunt, as I said I love the town, and its people but since so many people are posting things about the cops in a negative way, I thought would be a good idea to give people a chance to give their suggestions.

Jerry you must be hard at work if all you have to do is set and think about the topix for Bradshaw do they pay you by the hour for thinking damn I need that job because I love to think to.

I think they need to get rid of Scottie and that would improve for one and another tell them to quit trying to make friends with drug dealers and such and start trying to clean the streets up that would be a good start

for your information I do my job very well, and no it is not all sitting like you and some others seem to think it is, it is more detailed than you think it is, but then you wouldnt know if you have not done it yourself. as for thinking while at work, theres not a person alive who does not think of things away from work while on the job, if they say they dont then they are a liar because its human. not to mention if you think of other things the shift does go by faster so yes I do think of things non work related.

I personally think that a lot of the problem was just hit on the head, cops try to make friends with people to much. They should be out doing their job busting the criminals instead of making friends, friends they are less likely to bust.

The Cops do thier job and take them in and then they get released..they get thier ass kicked
and then let go..so really the cops dont have the last say so about anything..the Mcdowell County
Judges do..so don't go on here and blame the cops..they do their job so quit complaining@!!!!!

his grandfather passed away before Erics mom

mistake eric and jerry are kin because jerry's dad is eric's uncle if he is not kin to jerry then he can't be kin to kenny blankenship which is his mom's brother so don't act like you know everything

its not the cops its the judges that are letting the drugies have bond and the people who go pay the bond thats where the blame should go

No mistake. My Grandfather(Buddy Mitchell) was killed in a coalmine shortly after my Grandmother became pregnant with my mom. Kenny is my moms step-brother. I'm not sure who you are big timer...but I am sure of who posted that comment. She has been married to me for nearly 14 years....so she may know slighty more than you.

Wrong, they do not do all they could, how many times do the cops drive by the drug dealers, blow their horn and do NOTHING.

Erics Mom (Teresa) is My uncle Harolds daughter,and Harold is my Dads Brother, so yes WE ARE RELATED, and what is it to you anyway. Are you jealous because someone knows something you dont.

Teresa may not be Harold’s biological daughter, but he was the one who raised her, he was there when she needed a dad, and I am sure she would agree. When Harold passed away, Teresa was there, she was listed as one of his daughters, the same as Marry & Rita, and she has always been treated as one of his children. In fact, when she speaks to or of my dad, she refers to him as Uncle, so if that does not make someone family then I dont know what does. If you dont want to consider yourself family any more that is up to you, but we was raised as family, we grew up as family and unless you are now saying you are disowning us as your family then we will remain as family.

Harold was not your biological grandfather but who was the man that raised your mom, who stood by her when she needed a dad, Harold was that man. Never once did he make a difference between those who were his biological children and Teresa, infact if anyone ever mentioned it he would tell them that she was his daughter, period, and that the only steps was the ones leading up to the house. He loved her with all his heart, and he also loved you kids, he never once made a difference in any of the grandkids (including you). When Harold died, no difference was made between any of the kids, and that included your mom. She called Harold her Dad because like it or not Harold was the only Dad she ever had or knew, and she called Harold’s Brothers and Sisters her Aunt and Uncles, now it is up to you to decide if you want to claim you are not related to this family or not. I just hope Harold is not watching and seeing this because I may be wrong but it seems to me that you are disowning his family. If I am wrong then I will be the first to apologize but as I see it this is what you are doing. You may not consider yourself as being family or related to anyone in this family … if this is your feeling that is fine with me, but I see it differently, to me anytime a man raises a child, and cares for them as if they were his blood then they are part of the family no exceptions.

and yes i would call any one dad or mom if thay
