Were you there when the band marched in the Madi Gras parade in New Orleaans? That was an awsome trip! Whatever happened to Mr. Wagner?

No, I wish I were though. I was a member when Blake was the director.

Wagner works in Charleston now.

What an incredible time that was. Hard to imagine that a band from a little school in the "mountains" would end up at the Madi Gras...lol

My favorite teachers are Mr. Sloan and Mr. Smith.

I remember when I was in the 9th grade and we were to have a graduation ceremony and it was cancelled. We protested and our parents were called to the school. We had our graduation.

My favorites at BJHS were:

Mrs. Linkous
Mrs. Mullins--only reading teacher who taught me anything and you could get her talking about religion and the class didn't have to do any work
Mrs. Chadwell--only teacher who taught me anything about English and diagramming those darn sentences
Mrs. Hite
Mrs. Pocrnich

My favorite at Iaeger were Roy and Luanna Matney. I have never before or since seen any two teachers that really cared about their students and whether they learned. I was never afraid to ask questions in their class even though I was shy. They never made you feel dumb for asking. They always took the last 10 or 15 minutes of class to walk around and see if you needed any help on the homework they assigned. They actually watched you do problems at your desk and did not itimidate you by looking over your shoulder. If my kids just had one teacher like the ones I had I would feel blessed. Unfortunately, my three kids haven't had any like the ones from Bradshaw. They go to school in NC and let me tell you education here STINKS! Things have definitely changed since we were in school in the 80s--just not for the better.

Oh my goodness! Reading these entries just kept a smile on my face. Mrs. Sarah Lee Harris ( so funny), Mrs. Hite ( a hoot), Mr. Louie Wimmer and Mr. Jim Sloan, Mr. Kyle Keaton ( hard and cared enough to be that way), Ms. Day (gorgeous and motivational), Ms. Pettrey and Mr. Bob Mosby (he did his job very well and played surrogate Dad as well). What wonderful memories of great people and great times! Thanks to anyone else I might've left out.
