Is the truth ever going to come out about this girl and her throwing the baby away? It's like this is all hush - hush. I think that this is sending the message that if you don't want your unborn child and it's to late for an abortion, then COME ON DOWN to York and throw your baby in the trash and NOTHING will happen to you!!!!!

I've been wondering the same thing.
I wonder what would happen if a bunch of us asked our AG Bruning??? It seems like he's not afraid to stick his nose into certain issues & he's already po'd about other issues in York Co.

I hope the best for this young girl but there's more to this story. I just don't think she did this on her own.

I am very happy that things are finally moving forward in this case! I hope they give her the maximum sentence! I also think that Dai should be charged!

I ditto that qt, it's been a long time coming!
I also, think the memorial & stir from topix people helped move this forward.
Everyone here did a great job, of not letting this go! Bravo all concerned people!

It's sad that people are prosecuting this young girl without knowing the whole story. Has anyone thought for one minute that if that baby was born alive (as proven by autopsy) that this girl would be charged with murder? An autopsy would show if the baby took a breath when it was born and if the lungs showed that they were inflated then I am sure that those charges would be brought against her with no hesitation. The truth of the matter is, the baby was more then likely stillborn and this young girl panicked. I am not saying that her choice was a good one with disposing of the body herself, but I think that we all need to remember that she is only 17 and I am sure very scared and confused. None of us know what we would do in the situation....for either that girl or her mother. We can anticipate what we would do but until you have walked in their shoes, you should not judge. To say that they should be charged with murder is ridiculous because a person has to be alive in order to be murdered. Where is the proof that the baby was born alive?

hey now it was a full term baby so it was alive for at least nine months! and i have walked in her shoes as i have said before only i was 3 years younger than her and now i have an awesome 9 year old son to show for it. so maybe you should take your own words and think about that before you judge the people who think she deserves a harsh punishment!

She had 9 months to think about what she would do. That is the thing that really bothers me. When she went into labor, a 911 call would have taken care of every thing & she wouldn't be going thru what she is now.

and if Dai would have made a call as soon as she found out, this whole thing would have been possibly going in a whole different direction...neither of them did the right thing, this situation could have been alot different there may have been more sympathy for them instead of what it has turned in to....

I think that if the baby was alive they would have already charged her with murder. So that would lead me to believe that it was still born. If she would have had an abortion would you all still be upset about it or would that have been acceptable.

not that i agree with abortion, but that would have been her personal choice and not against the law, this child was full term and was regarded as garbage and treated as such, there were other avenues she could have taken..can not get this picture out of my head of this bloody baby in a bag laying in the dump.....it is all so very sad..

I am not disagreeing that this young girl made some very bad choices, not only at the time of the birth but for the whole time she was pregnant. Yes, the better choice would have been to tell a trusted adult about the pregnancy and for her to get proper prenatal care. If she had done that perhaps the outcome would have been different for everyone involved. What I am saying is that until we have actually experienced what this girl experienced, none of us know what we would have done.
Mommy of 3: I am not judging those who think she deserves a harsh sentence...I am only asking people to remember that none of us knows how we will really react to any situation until we are in it ourselves. I am also asking you to remember that our legal system has checks and balances in place to give punishment appropriately. If the baby had taken a breath at birth then I am sure she would be charged with murder but because she is not being charged with murder I can only assume that the baby was stillborn.

see thats what no ones stoping to think about here. she is not a stupid girl by any means and she knew better.there for i think that improper disposal of a body is a crap charge. damn my kids cant even play in the yard without someone being out there with them practically follwing their every move and i got the cops on my ass. and she throws hers away and thats cool people who get caught smoking pot spend more time in jail than what shes looking at for throwing a child away. like i said before. regardless of if baby angelica took a breath or not she lived for nine months and something could have been done to prevent it. and as far as the previous abortion comment....im way anti abortion but it would have been better than throwing a baby in the trash.
